I mean, TI isn't in a prehistoric timeframe and is more present day/future than anything, so I dont think deer would be that bad.
Aside from that, I've seen prehistortic mammals hinted to in the concepts below that I'll link. You can see bone remains used from mammals, primarily mentioned, mammoths.

They're only concepts, but it's not enough evidence to confirm yet.

This has been asked before and from what i remember mammals are kinda a no go.

Humans are Mammals and Humans are confirmed, therefore, there will be a playable mammal in the game.

There wont be any mamals Judgeing from what Dondi has said in his streams,but there may be a couple of exceptions.He has joked about makeing some after Development to mess with Far Cry Primal, and hes privatly shot images of something to his Dev team and talked about adding "it" after the game is finished.Its really kinda iffy overall if there will be mamals in the game,but there most likely wont be a maml faction unless modded in.

Horse, boar, deer, and rats are considered for AI prey or riding animals. They are ideas though as we have not seen any models or official set-in-stone news on them.

They are not official or unofficial at the moment. Even if they don't get in, I bet mods will happen though once the dev kit is made.
