Superstar = unblockable cheat

Wow... the perfect tackles, the perfect passes... suddenly all the AI becomes Messi and Ronaldo.

Also, they do a lobbed chip ball that the CBs don't mark for some reason, get perfectly open 1:1 with the keeper ALL THE TIME. There's really no way to mark or block this even if you double mark the person in the settings...

Seriously, there should be a way to block things with skill, not AI loopholes...

AI is disappointing also in the way they "block"... They just seem to cover one side and encourage you to run in a straight line towards the goal... Sure, this prevents feints because they don't reach, but it's super unrealistic sometimes....

Just try playing super star AI and hold B + A + R (pressure + tackle + run) and watch your opponent AI whose ratings are all 50s and 60s turn into Messi's.

Which is disappointing in every football game. When it comes to AI, strength of the team doesn't matter. You can easily win with Barcelona, but struggle against 2nd league teams.

I do not agree, the AI in superstar is not unblockable at all, you need to have a secure defending, not rushing on them, wait for the right moment and stand tackle, or a small pressure at the right moment.
I'm playing superstar in ML with a low team, first season was difficult, but in my second season with a slightly better team and a good cohesion (which is very very important this year) I'm in the lead of the second division.
And believe me, when I play a first division team I feel a difference :)

How do you block chipped through balls? Should I zoom out my camera? Because the player being chipped to is out of the camera and the AI CBs don't mark them well even if I set it up to mark them.

They improved offense greatly this year, but defense not improved significantly yet. Smart FW + smart through ball vs relatively dumb DF.

Let alone superstar, on regular & professional small teams can make such unstoppable attack to top teams.

Pressing could be smarter, now it's quite stupid esp if dribbling opponent has passed your player. If you press A to pressure, your player ignore the ball and home-in to the opponent's body, giving you very small chance to steal ball or block crossing/shot and look very stupid and instinctive in football. They should make pressure considering your goal, the ball, and the player, so pressure from the middle of those 3 points like in real football. If just consider opponent's body then it looks very stupid and terribly ineffective.

I changed the tactic to have a really low defense line (not the min but almost) and I have total defense selected so that as soon as a loose the ball, my defense is in place.

I agree, pressure, even if I use it by habit, is ineffective, you should only use it when on the opponent trying to steal the ball without a tackle.

But it's not a bad thing, defending only by pressing a button is not really challenging...

Ok fair enough I am palying on top player level so it should be hard, however I have been doing a master league and I have won the league, just 2 games before this match champions league Semi Final I won 12-2 I think Against Roma ok was over 2 legs, now I have a match against Chelsea in the FA Cup final and try as I might the AI is scorring what I can only refer to as unstoppable his players just walk through my challenges they seem to be faster stronger his chip through balls are perfect regardless how many players I have trying in vain to disposses them and he has won easily 10x times now of trying to win this game remember I have already won the league losing about 4 games and with a +35 or so goal difference ridicously destroyed Roma in semi final and now the AI has just ramped up so much that it isn't even funny

It is ruining the whole point of playing so why do it?
