Steam Controller Not Working

I've downloaded the latest firmware, even downloaded a custom config for the game, but nope. Nothing I do will make it work.
The controller itself works with other games so I know the controller isn't faulty, any ideas how to get it to work with this game? Or is it just typical Konami still don't know how to make a game function correctly beyond standard buttons?

have you tried to find in a game folder the SETTINGS.exe?if you not,then find ,there is as you know ,posibility to set buttons on your controller as you wish.

for mine to work you have to have it turned on before you launch the game, dont walk off and leave it paused either, bc if your contorller shuts off you cant finish your game with it. Have to exit the game and restart. This may not happen with other ppl. But i had the same problem you had. Also i had to have steam in big picture mode to adjust the button layout.

I'm not a tool, I know how to set buttons on it. I've set all the buttons and everything but for some reason it wont work at all, even with it on when the game launches.

Had zero problems with the game using the steam controller , worked without any setup at all but what mayoluck was suggesting , going to the settings exe , launch that and make sure it is set to xinput on the controller tab , hope you get it sorted good luck.

You don't need to be in big picture mode , Games/Library right click the game and go to configure controller , works fine without big picture mode.

Steam controller does work.
U don't even need 2 create a config in BPM etc. bc it will load a default-config.
U also don't need 2 change bindings via settings.exe.

Steam controller only does NOT work if u install some fan-patches.

I can confirm that the PTE-patch does screw up the controls and prevents u from playing local-MP-matches IF the Steam controller is the only controller that is connected.

Even if u want 2 play with XBOX360-controller u need 2 activate the controller via settings.exe b4 u can play the game.

Steam-controller does only work if u play SP bc PTE-patch does not recognize it as a controller.

I miss the good old days of pes-edit.com:
Just install the patch & play the game.
