Game not launching

Is anyone else having a problem getting this game to launch through steam.

Me too, so I got the refund. Actually ALL my games linked to Uplay do not lauch. I ask for support and they are working on the issue. A LOT of people are in the same condition. They offered me to UNLINK the 2 accounts. Is it safe? dunno. So this not only for Anno.

Same problem; anno 2205 will not launch. I bought it from Steam, and UPLAY was already uninstalled from my pc, before downloading this game - suddenly UPLAY was installed in my pc system again and keeps welcoming me to their community! How do I get rid of UPLAY?

I had the same problem. I actually had a similar situation with Far Cry 3, 4 and Anno 2070.
But I managed to improve the situation by making sure anno2205.exe was set to run as administrator. This allowed me to resolve the same issue with the other Ubisoft games.
For Anno 2205 however UPLAY now asks me for the CD key that you don't get anymore through steam. There is a another discussion open for that.
