Saving the game...

Just to be sure - someone here posted a hateful thread about imposibility to save a game anytime you want - yes, you can´t save it manually but why you would do that? it is unecesarry because everytime you left the game, it will auto-save the progress...

My auto save doesn't work. It doesn't save. Every time i quit the game *bam* new game starts.. Auto-save option is enabled. But the game won't save at all

That's not an excuse for lack of manual saves. I want manual saves, separate saves so I can save and load anytime I want, not a single BS autosave file.

Manual save is helpful when my game crashes (3x so far) and autosave fails. Lose hours of progress.

Mine was like that too. Then suddenly 1 day it workt. Have no idea why and what happened.

Because autosaves are inflexable and before you take a risk you can not save and try again. Autosave equals old school of gaming and more a button masher thing.

Backups are supposed to be inflexible. An autosave or manual save is a way of backing up progress in case something happens beyond your control. I like Anno enough to want to save my progress in the event of a problem rather than start all over from nothing.
