Is fusion energy still the best?
Now that there is tundra for natural gas energy, is it as good or even better than fusion?

Dunno but i am 100% sure you dont want to waste space on tundra... you can use 3 moon locations instead.

Transmitting fusion power from the moon kicks all sorts of butt compared to ANY terrestrial power source currently; so far nothing has even put a dent in fusion. In fact, if I could use fusion in the Arctic, I'd scrap the methane gas subsystem there.

The downside is a solar flare event will always disrupt the transfer, and you're forced to vote for that Asian woman to bypass it. Not that it's that big of a problem but I would like to see the benefits from the other 4 candidates.

The solar flare event IMO is easy to recover from, as long as you react fast to it.

the WHOLE ideia behind colonizing the moon is because of energy
