I loaded the backup before opening the Stock Market and managed to solve it by completing a quest that paid the money I needed then proceeding to put down a line of trees before the quest money ran out.
Well, Ornaments cary the prerrogative they're for aesthetics. I ignored them completely until I couldn't. They shouldn't potentially end your game if you don't put them down.
If I wasn't barred from selling excess goods, I wouldn't be complaining.
Also, does the game activelly waits for you to go on a mission to start invasions and catastrophes?
