The game itself is has good zoom and looks beautiful altogether. It’s just controls is a point that has to be optimized for a game to be considers "A good game" in the first place.
Hops this is the answer what you wanted. And again I havened tested the new update of this year yet.
bad ratings come from two sides - a) people have no idea how to deal with uplay b) people who love anno 1404 finds this game to be dumbed down.
I, for one, love it. I do miss the old trade routes and city layouting, but I guess I play annno 2205 for different resons than I play anno 1404.
Graphics are pretty, I love stock market, sector things and chances to build pretty. Secotr mission etc make the game cool and even though i finished the main "campaign" in under 15h, i still had (ans still have) tons of things to do.
For big cities (on big maps) game tends to stutter after widnows update.
Half of the key binding somehow are not intuitive and you need to re-map; NPCs are not very interesting.
However, it is a decent city-builder.
This game is worth it.
And i think definate edition does include all.
But then, the Uplay ruines everything.
Even that the game has all the DLCs packaged inside it, the stupid DRM forced you to limited use on basicly two or three computers, even worse, parts/OS swap counts as install in a new computer. Also the save sync function have chance of empties your hundreds hours work,...... And all time connections, you know that is not good.
Other than that, it is a good game, just not on the same standerd of previous Anno title.
Think it is a Mobile App game version of Anno, but on PC.
The Ultimate Edition definitely includes ALL the DLCs. I bought it in the Christmas sale, so can say that with confidence.
I agree with Tsarevna1917's comments about the game. I had previously played many, many hours of Anno 2070, and Anno 1404. The reviews of 2205 had put me off too, and to be honest, if the price wasn't reduced so drastically, I would never have considered buying it.
At -75% discount though, this game is an absolute bargain. I'm really, REALLY glad I bought it. There's so much to do, and tweak all the time.
I set the game to the second difficulty level, and it has taken me about 40 hours to complete the campaign, yet the game is still only about 50% 'done' from what I can see.
There's a lot more buildings to be unlocked still, the stock market to play with, the Tundra DLC maps to populate, the Orbit space station to play around with, other sectors to inhabit, corporations to buy out etc.
I don't understand why this game seems to be regarded as 'dumbed-down'? As I said before, I've played hundreds of hours in the other Anno games, so I know how they work.
You still have trade routes, but they are now called 'transfer-routes' instead. The difference? It's 2205 guys, and they are instantaneous, instead of animated by little transport ships. In the same sector, you don't even need to set them up at all. The transfer routes are animated though, even though you can't interact with the temperate sector ships.
You still have production chains. In some respects this is like the multi-islands from earlier Anno games. For example, people in temperate sectors need Neural Implants which can only be made in Arctic sectors, whose scientists need Bio-enhancers made only on the moon etc.
As your population levels up, everything needs re-balancing, constant re-tweaking as always.
So, why is it 'dumbed-down'? I don't get it.
My one niggle with the game is the constant invasions. Combat is a lame duck in this game. No challenge at all (which is good IMO anyway though), and it's only purpose seems to be a way of farming rare elements, which you could also now do indirectly, if you play the Anno 2205 Asteroid miner app on a mobile phone.
If I start another new game, I would set invasions either to off (if that's possible) or rare.
As for Uplay - it has never been a problem here in this game or Anno 2070. If you already have a Uplay account then you're good to go. If you buy it on Steam, it will get associated with your Uplay account when you start for the first time, done.
Or, just buy it from the Ubisoft game store. It's the same price as on Steam (in the UK anyway), and that's one less launcher to worry about.
Nailed it.
did get this game and lol
first hour all OK, did play for 20 min and played someting else
did go back for another 20 min and on next day again 20 min.
second hour was all ok, now cant even start the game again
