TrackMania Sunrise, and especially with Extreme, blows TrackMania United out of the water and away into the distance.
Also, TMU has problems on OS' since Win7 for many people as well.
I have TMU - it's no replacement for TMS, and I think Sunrise is the much better game.
com on devs, make it 10$ or at least 15$ or do you like all the whining about that ******-up maleware you've used to "protect" original and sunrise?
maybe a free copy as preorder bonus for Turbo?
As long as Nadeo shows that kind of disrespect to their own heritage and the people who still want to play their first two games, I wouldn't even consider buying TM Turbo.
The general devaluing of games is pretty annoying too. People even have more money than they did back when United was released, while the price hasn't changed (though I swear it used to be $40). I blame mobile games and indie developers, never mind that there is a much higher percentage of bad indie games to sift through than bad AAA ones.
(All the big indie names are just that, big names. Not only that, but a lot of good indie games don't even exist to most of the people who would play them.)
Most newer TM games don't have the Platform and Puzzle game modes that TMO and TMS have, which are non-race modes, and for some of people are the most enjoyable to play.
TMU does have those modes, but the tracks in TMU and their presentation are not of equal scale and quality to those in TMS, imo. Also, TMS had good music, and visually has a really nice menu compared to the TMU and onward style of menus in TM games.
Its really tricky but its working
2. Trackmania United Forever ! Has it all !
http://store.steampowered.com/app/7200/
Regarding the other point, TrackMania United Forever doesn't have it all, and is an inferior product to Sunrise, in presentation, challenge designs, and scale. And Sunrise has a great soundtrack. TrackMania United Forever is like a general demoing of Sunrise Extreme and other TrackMania games, but its quality is not at the same level as Sunrise Extreme.
Yeah, that can be done. It's not as good that way, though.
Could you give details on how you got it working in Windows 7? I've only seen it working using a virtual machine for Vista.
