About the lack of playerhosted dedicated servers
Hello everyone,

I want to get back about the lack of playerhosted dedicated servers in Trackmania Turbo.

The reasons are quite simple, first the players can't host dedicated servers themselves on console (because it's a manufacturer policy) and second, we don't want to have an additionnal development branch spécifically for the PC because it'll make the development more complex and extend its duration.

That's why the servers will be hosted by Nadeo on dedicated machines where players will be able to customized their options (tracklist, level required, number of players and more) when they'll create an instance. We'll not use P2P to host the games.

Nice news ! So, we will have our favorite servers, like in TM Canyon "SSM SHORT 2015", but it will be hosting on your nadeo machines ?

Yes but there will be no plugin/custom music supported (again manufacturer policy and potential rights issues as we host the servers).

Sad to hear anout music situiation, vut it is really great news about custom NADEO servers !
How could hosts get these servers to launch ?

More details will be unveiled later about the online features of Turbo ;)

what i read in that is that we can start the server, but when all players leave the instance will get shut down.

How long will a server be kept online? Does it disappear once every players have left it?

i don`t think so, becouse it would be useless to gove opportunity to host uniq server and sometime it will be go down if online=0.
as dev was said earlier - we will get more info a bit later
I think this is really sad to hear. This was one of the things that makes Trackmania so great in the past, i think on Xaseco, Dedimania Records System and so on ...
The Community has made Trackmania so great with all their hard work!
In the Future, the Server will only set apart on the Servername and a few Tracks there isn't on other Servers?! You lost a really big part of the Community with this Maniaplanet thing ...
I had some fun with Trackmania2 Stadium and Canyon, but it wasn't such great like Nations.
If i read of Trackmania Turbo, i was really happy. But my happiness is gone after this message.
I don't know if the Community grows with this Consoles peoples like the past. But I don't think Trackmania Turbo will be my Game.
I had a really great past with Trackmania Nations ESWC and Nations Forever, with the "the Last Heroes" Gaming Community, hosting our own unique Servers, with music, Mods and so on. Mappers came to us to test there Tracks like Denders, Blinnemanns and Turbofreak. We had 6 Server running 24 hours full of Players in our greatest time. The Community has made Trackmania so great with all their hard work! This is the decision of Ubisoft, and I'll make my decision!

No because Trackmania Turbo wasn't a PC game from the start, it's a console game ported on PC.

funny, can't remember any other trackmania being on consoles.. god bless consoles for destroying yet another great pc franchise.. but hey, what can pc gamers possibly expect from you ubisoft folks.. after all, you guys are treating us like dirt for the past 10 years.. gg

Glad I didn't get into this game.
Now I'm glad I didn't buy TM 2 and this. uPlay, and no dedicated servers on a PC franchise.

Oh, the ignorance in this post :-)) Basically your post starts with a NO, then follows with why the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ consoles are destroying yet another PC franchise. It's like a goal, can we take every PC born game and franchise out there and running them over in the ground, so we can catter to the wonderful console crowd ? Well, we can sure try. Disgusting
