Cockpitview

Please Nadeo, I've been asking for this since the beginning of Trackmania, please add a simple cockpitview. Just as an OPTIONAL extra camera viewpoint, so It wouldn't be a problem for Trackmania purists. The in front of the car camera Isn't the same as an actual first person cockpit view experience. The latter makes you feel like you are in the car, one with the machine, while the in front of the car view is just like you are a floating camera...

Especially now with the VR support, I really don't understand why you haven't included a first person view...

I also wish to controll the camera with the right analog stick. That would be swell. (And ofcourse headtracking when using a VR-device.)

BTW could you please add TrackIR support? I do not yet have an Oculus Rift, Morpheus or HTC Vive, but I DO have TrackIR and I really would like to use It with my favourite racing game ever.

BTW you guys could really learn from a French game called Nitro Stunt Racing. You should work together!

Nadeo are a platform game desinger - they know nothing of racing and realistic physics! If you want a real racing game - try something else!

@Doodles, why does there always has to be some buzzkill that has a problem with something OPTIONAL. Look, I'm okay with the arcady non-realism of the game, I just want to have an extra camera view for fun! All I'm asking for is that they simply put the camera on the driversseat! Just as an OPTION, for the people like me who really would enjoy that! I didn't say a thing about changing the physics or anything or making It a boring realistic racing sim. Geez

I'm curious if it was actually playable like that (i've read about manipulating the camera in the editor to have a cockpit view) or if they were fussing with replay editor. But yeah, it looks so cool.

The video tutorial didn't help though, I did exactly as was told/shown but my camera just stays at the start when the car drives away from It.

@danodude It would really be great If you could take a look! Maybe with Skype screen sharing or something.

@ZouTek I personally don't miss that cameraview, but I agree with you that they shouldn't leave things out because there are always people who enjoy those options that are now left out. Adding new stuff however, is always good as long as It's optional so that everyone's happy. (Adding new stuff can be bad when a feature breaks the game though, but cameraview 1 doesn't do that.)
