Well, at least they were honest and said that it was too complex and took to much time,
time which they didn't have because they sold TM to Ubisoft which is known to rather release fast than good and come up with a average port with no differences from the console version in terms of gameplay aspects. That's the danger of choosing Ubisoft as a publisher.
Rather the reason is with the intended simplicity of usage of the game.
And the choice to keep Maniaplanet as the creative platform. At least for the moment. ;-)
Hmm, don't you think it's strange that TMN, TMUF, and every part of the TM² series had dedicated servers and then they sign a deal with Ubisoft and suddely we get a Trackmania:
1.Without Dedicated servers
2.Without being able to hide cars
3.Without local and world records
4.Without being able to change keybindings on day #1
5.No more than 100 people on a server
6. Uplay mandatory
All those things that made Trackmania what it is were all blown of the table.
I tihnk it has everything to do with Ubisoft being the publisher, i know for sure that they told Nadeo to get rid of all those functions to create a game with the vision of Ubisoft instead of Nadeo's awardwinning vision.
But if it was only missing time that made them not finish everything, they might perhaps release a dedicated (let's say for PC, as cross-platform won't work this soon) in a later point of time.
But I have not read anything about a possible dedicated server for Turbo yet.
Alot of people are having issues with keybindings on controllers and Nadeo is already working on a patch, It only happens with controllers though, not on keyboards. i should have written that more clearly.. xD

Yeah, well it didn't work out for them then when seeing all the negative reviews compared to the other Trackmania's.
Don't get me wrong, i'm totally in love with this game so if i'd write one i would write a positive review, but it's just a fact that they've could've done so much more and that all the good things about Trackmania were replaced with more simple things. :)
It's always nice to have a respectful discussion with someone, so thanks to you too!
