I would buy it if i could have the cockpit view all the time. It's also sad that you can only drive vr tracks and not the normal ones...
I think they went a little bit to far to get the game comfortable for everyone...
For me the best vr experiences are the ones that put ME into the game world that I am playing in, I kind of felt like an observer in this being able to look around in third person just didn't feel right and made it difficult to control the vehicle with me floating around behind it, I would have much preferred to have experienced the track rushing toward me, and to have enjoyed the speed, turns and climbs and drops while controlling my racer seated inside it.
Not sure what the thinking was here, makes me wonder if the devs have played many vr games, a thought re-enforced by the fact that I couldn't see how to recenter the camera on myself, as with Vive my position for seated playing is not in the centre of my roomscale area, otherwise I would keep falling over it when playing roomscale games...
Will keep in touch with it and maybe there is a bumper or 1st person and recenter option that I missed.
the right thumbstick. Pressing down on it changes the camera view. It only seems to work
in normal game play, not in VR. :(
Oh, and i totally agree with you guys on the VR tracks, completely watered down
compared to the normal tracks.
Only thing is if you do that, it stays that way, at least till you change it back.
Whoever designed the VR mode, did a poor job IMO. I dunno why they didn't at least implement a front hood camera.
So much wasted potential!
Also, can't play the old regular tracks, again, that is odd desicsion but maybe it's because it requires extra actors in the level or a different pawn to make VR work. But yeah, being able to play old tracks would boost the playability of the game.
2018 could be great for sales as the VR HMD's have all dropped to affordable prices and games like this could be huge money makers if implemented correctly.
At least bonnet cam and more tracks.
