I loaded a song,
Pressed Export from the main interface, which opened the export menu,
I clicked open Music folder and that opened and explorer session that took me to my music\rytmik folder (this is where the export will be saved.)
I set up the Filename,
set Autoplay to Start,
set auto stop to Loop end,
changed Format to MP3,
set MP3 Quality to 320 kbps,
and clicked Start.
RytmiK scanned the song and wrote to the folder.
The MP3 plays fine.
I changed the format to wav and clicked start, and
Rytmik scanned the song and wrote the wav to the folder,
again the wav played fine.
That's just it. It refuses to scan the songs or write to the folder. And I've logged over 200 hours with Rytmik; I've exported songs before, so I know something is wrong.
I guess now I'd just like to know if I can re-introduce the old RUE/RUF files if I were to uninstall and re-install the program (hopefully that would fix it, but I have half-finished songs that are trapped in there that I want to keep).
I've been able to migrate Rytmik from one machine to another with all projects in tact by copying my configs and RUE/RUF files appropriately. Just make sure every song includes both the .rue and .ruf files otherwise they might not work again later. Actually, you should probably just back up every Cinemax s.r.o folder in AppData\LocalLow as they are all relatively tiny and you never know if you might need more than just the song files later.
The song files, on Windows, can be located here for Rytmik Ultimate.

Before you try reinstalling Rytmik, why not try verifying file integrity with Steam first? If the installation is corrupted, Steam should be able to detect it this way. If that doesn't work, it's somewhat doubtful that manually uninstalling and re-installing Rytmik will have a different effect.
Well, that's unfortunate, because I just tried the verification, and Steam didn't say anything was amiss. :/
If this thread doesn't work out, I think I might try uninstalling it anyway. In a couple days...
As for the RUE/RUF files I'm not sure about these, but if your project is on the cloud in your account, are they not reproduced if you reload the project from the cloud? (I don't use the program as much as I should - LOL)
All I can really say here is that on my machines the function is not broken, it works well for me. It could be a conflict with another program or some setting you have on your side that is causing the problem. That said, I have Odessy, both Cakewalk and Bandlab Sonar, Rytmik (Ultimate and Studio), SoundForge Pro, Audacity and a few other music and audio related programs installed on my machines and I am not experiencing any problems in Rytmik, so I really can't suggest what might be interfering with your setup.
Good luck.
Windows 10 (64-bit), last updated on 6/27, which is about when all this stuff started...
As I explained in a more recent post in the Studio discussions (https://steamcommunity.com/app/657280/discussions/0/2570942392199255790/) it's completely random; most of the time it does not work, but I have no idea when it will start working again or for how long.
Rytmik Studio has been behaving itself lately, but the first few times I used it it was doing the same thing, so I can't be sure about it, either...
c:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\CINEMAX_ s_r_o_\Rytmik Ultimate\ if there is output_log.txt ? It might be also in
c:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Cinemax, s.r.o_\Rytmik Ultimate\
The file is there.
I had a similar issue once, but with a song I was re-exporting. I wanted to overwrite a song but the software didn't want to and would just play the song instead of exporting it. Turns out I was using the sound file in another program at the same time and that was keeping Rytmik from modifying it.
Personally, I'm an old time Rytmik Ultimate user. When I got Rytmik Studio I had unresolved buffer issues but most importantly, it messed up with my Rytmik Ultimate folders. For both reasons, I got a refund.
I was waiting to see if they'd make a post about it so I could mark it as the answer...but since that didn't happen, I guess I should edit the title or something, to show the issue's resolved. Thanks for everyone's help~
