Also, thanks for the share - I actually didn't know about the modifed mouse actions - which honestly sound like they could've been useful to me on some past projects.
Also, might want to make a guide of this to make it more readily available in Rytmik's Steam Overlay for others to see :)
Thanks, I didn't know it only works if you're already friends with the other user. That's good to know.
However, in that case the chat-feature is somewhat useless, to be honest -- because, I wouldn't want to be friends with everyone just to be able to chat with them or give them feedback.
On the other hand, I understand why the Steam chat was implemented that way -- fully unrestricted chat systems always have problems with unwanted messages.
You're welcome.
Yea, which is why I called them "hidden controls". They are very poorly documented; you have to hunt them down either by experimentation (often difficult to notice the effect they have), or by reading every single message on this discussion board (which is what I have done).
I hope some devs notice my post too; I'd like to hear directly from the devs if there are more of these hidden actions. Or anything else they'd like to share.
I'll keep that in mind. Seriously, I have been considering rewriting the entire manual and augmenting it with all the information tidbits I've learned on this forum.
I'm just not sure if Rytmik Ultimate is really the product I want to dedicate a lot of my time to. It's a fun little tracker, but it has some severe limitations.
For example, RU's ability to keep only 255 user-made songs locally bugs the hell out of me; because I usually save multiple versions of a song (both as backup, and as a way to revert changes). So, 255 save-slots is, kind of underwhelming.
I'd much prefer, that each song was saved along with a descriptive filename, to a location I can specify, where I can save as many files as I have diskspace.
All in all, the Rytmik Ultimate "song browser" obviously isn't ment for large scale projects with many revisions. (And personally I have absolutely zero interest in the Rytmik Cloud component of this product. Even the EULA prohibits me from using it.)
Well, we all know the biggest limitations, and could keep ranting about them all day. Going off topic here, so back to the topic at hand. It is what it is.
Cheers,
