The next thing you should do is farm dungeon anomalies. Dungeon anomalies grant rune rewards which are otherwise inaccessible (or at least very hard to get). Between those runes and normal legendaries, try to find stuff that synergises with your build. For example, there's a ring which lets zombie/plague bearer companion proc Infection, which might be useful for Plague Mage, depending on your build. Then there's a rune which lets you summon more zombies/plague bearers, which is useful if you end up going with aforementioned ring, etc. If you keep going down the line, the rune/item slots will eventually get filled up with stuff that's useful to you in some way. No need to worry about true legendaries before that.
Greater augmenting only locks the enchantment, not the actual number. If you have the necessary resources (especially the memory essences; if you're in the early stages of the endgame, you might be short on those), all you need to do to greater augment your items is talk to Chantelle.
As for the sets, I'm using the demon's lord set which focuses on companions, but as far I know it doesn't have an infinite stacking ability, does that means that I should change set?
As for runes, do you mean runes with an ability already? if so which mythical level should I farm them?
As for greater augmenting, should I do that only after I reach the cap with normal augmenting?
You should farm dungeon anomalies at Mythic 1 or higher. Mythic 14 and 15 give you 2 runes per run, but that's only efficient if you can comfortably clear those difficulties.
Yes, greater augmenting is just normal augmenting past the cap.
Combining that with the Kingsrock item bonus either through equipping or transmutation can get you covered pretty fast
