White numbers are ethereal damage and bleeds
Thorns -> turned to shadow by mastery -> gets affected by % shadow damage on gear?
Thanks now i know that all the time i played a "shadow warlock" in reality i played a bleed lock.
The hit that triggers the bleed can crit and the higher base damage leads to a higher bleed. I guess the bleed itsself cant crit? So no double dipping?
Really cool that you take your time to ask "how things work" questions, the help index ingame is allready a big help but of course it cant tell you everything.
As a related question (warden) - what happens when you have the lightning skill = thorns but also the Mastery perk holy = thorns? Which takes precedence?
Correct, and no double dipping :)
Thanks!
You mention Holy so I guess you mean Templar? Guessing you mean Avenger as the lightning skill? As the skill changes both element and mechanic, it should take precedence.
Here's a quick reference for element precedence
Templar: Avenger > Fire Thorns > Holy Thorns > default physical
Berserker: Molten Veins > Dragon Thorn (Rune) > default physical
Warlock: Dark Thorns > default physical
Warden: Nature's Barbs / Poisoned Thorns > default physical
The set bonus of machoist set adds 25% of my thorns on all bone skill hits.
Thorns are called indirect damage in the help file. Indirect damage -> cant triger bone splinters.
But the setbonus turns a quater of it to direct damage -> direct damage can triger bone splinters.
So my thorns really increase my HIT of every bone skill - and that higher hit triggers a higher bleed from bone splinters?
Thank you now i understand why Exoskeleton rune made my bleeddamage go crazy.
I found a bug :
Talisman of Spines: 100% more thorns per Ultimate (WORKS!), Ritual (WORKS!), ... , Utility (doesnt work!)
I have 123k Thorns with 1*ritual und 1*ultimate and 2 open skill slots.
Adding 1 or 2 Utility Skills (soulwarp and soul barrier) --> 123k Thorns.
No increase: Bug?
Thanks :)
Really 10 Dollars is not enough for your support!
I get my personal hotfix patch ... im stunned.
My bonestorm does like 1000% damage .. tooltip says something like 500k shadow damage. I have like 20 million thorns.
1. 5 million of the set are added on top of the 500k ... 5,5 million hit and done
2. the 5 million are added and affected by the 1000% of bone storm
If its the first is true things like %reaper damage or %bone skill or pointless for me ... even the 4 skillpoints to max bonestorm does almost nothing ...
If i finally find jons book of souls i can test m15 with my thorns bleed lock
but it might change, we'll see. Taking a look at some sets for 1.1 later :)
