Not enjoying Warden

Been trying it out since the update, but really not enjoying it. This is going to sound like a pointless post because im not able to narrow down the reason, its just not fun. I usually play ranger/necromancers in most rpgs (with a companion), but im really not finding it enjoyable like the Templar or Warlock are.

This is not a post just to criticise, would love to try something you guys are finding fun, not too fussed about getting crazy high anomalies, just want to chill out and have fun with it. Really not even sure what im looking for in a build, just fun and casual. I will list what I have tried below.

I have tried Wisps/Hail combo - Easy but boring, simply walk around and watch chain lightning clear then hail splat anything left.

Tried volley/pods - Found it very slow (not the movement, but the damage), just waiting on pods and bleeds, not as effective as warlocks damage over time.

Tried having pets from all trees with lots of companion gear - did not seem to be very affected damage wise, kinda pointless really.

Tried shroom/lightning for the lightning rod affect. - Did huge damage but felt like I had no control over anything, shrooms just kinda appeared everywhere and blew everything up. Was fun for a while just using boom shrooms, but having to be so close to the enemy to use them meant relying on evasion more than necessary, and risking big hits when that failed.


I do think the Warlock seems to have control over things, I enjoy the curses and the poison pets.
The Templar has boring basic attacks but seems to have some fun speed builds and good thorns, overall Templar just feels fun in general I think. As always I do like this game and the Dev a lot, so please take no offense, it could just be me personally not enjoying it, and may be nothing wrong with it.

I'm the opposite, i can play templar/warlock/zerker for a while but they don't compare to how much more i love playing warden. easily the best interpretation of a ranger/druid in any rpg i've played.

I play with static and lightning rod with set for that passives, all gems for lightning damage and chain lightning on attacks, also use lots of minions. Just shoot one charged arrow in any map and lightning remove all mobs from whole screen. I clear anomaly from 1 to 100 in 5 hours. Very fun build.

Maybe try frost warden? I'm playing frost warden from the beginning and i'm enjoying it. U can check my video in a character build section.
