Warden actives feel useless
I can't seem to find a single spell worth putting points into, other than the ultimates and the defaults. I don't have any legendary sets yet that change the way spells work, but I really feal like spells should be better without legendaries.

I like the poison rain, chain lightening, and the multi-shot alright, but they still couldn't be used often enough to warrant the waste of skill points. Every spec I've played so far has slowly ruled out all actives other than the default, so I'm just rolling around with 90 pets and a bunch of on hit effects.

Of course defensive actives all look good, but I don't need them yet. I'm only level 80, so I am keeping them in mind for when things get tougher.

So far my favorite two builds are lightning and druid. I love the super fast rapid shot build, but it's just not clearing rooms the way the other two do. I couldn't get into frost, which is strange because I keep reading that it's amazing.

What sort of pre-endgame warden builds have you guys had good luck with?

I'm rolling with a chain lightning/charged arrow/sparkies/lightning arrow/thunder storm build, and chose the ultimate that reduces all your cooldowns, and it's pretty good for clearing trash and most slightly tougher mobs, but I'm at anomaly 80, I think, and it's taking me quite a while to kill the 'special' bosses that spawn at the end of an anomaly. I played with my husband for a while and he chose a sun/moon warlock fire build, and his damage was absolutely obscene compared to mine, which was frustrating. I'm using the set which buffs the lightning rod skill, and I'm not sure if the wispmother set would be better..
Anyway I'd be keen to hear from other players about viable warden builds too. :-)

I ffeel you, I can not for the life of me find a Warden build that I like.. so far out of the Characters Warden thus far feels ... meh to me, have yet to use Zerker but still.

Anything should work pre-end game.

I started with a Warden, and while it does fine through the regular game, I don't think there is any viable high-anomaly setups. Same for Zerker. Every class should have a couple different setups that can run 1k+ anomalies.

What makes the really powerful setups shine is the legendary set bonuses. Those could be tweaked a little for the other classes to provide similarly powerful results for applicable builds/skills. And some additional items being added.

A good Wisp build can clear 1k anomalies with relative ease, and it's super fun to me personally. I focus mine primarily on effect duration with some CDR and companion damage alongside the necessary damage and survivability. I think someone has a video of him clearing 1000 or so, and the recent changes to some companions, Nimbus, and the like make it even more effective than when the video was shot. However, that's pretty gear-dependent and isn't really what you're asking.

Pre-endgame I ran with a physical AOE setup using Splinter and choosing the physical archery skills to maximize the number of arrows fired. I used that all the way to 100 quite easily without any gear required other than keeping up with items near character level. Gamble!

Companion damage? Since when did pets become viable offensive tools? If pets were buffed massively, I must have missed it.

Fire build - scorch has unlimited damage upgrade. All other fire skills are support. Two sets of armor can multiply fire damage. Anomaly 400+

I was referring to Wisps specifically. Have you tried them? 1k+ anomaly and quite possibly the best current Warden setup.

Wisps, in my opinion, are the strongest for warden. Also tried a hail snow blast build. which I put as 2nd.
