Set Gear
There seriously needs to be a better way to get set pieces, id personally rather see things like certain set pieces and legendary items drop off certain bosses. One it would give the player a reason to go back and re-visit areas of the game and two it just makes more senses that this ONE boss drops a certain set piece you need. Just mainly venting after trying to farm Warden gear and getting garbo :/.

Gamble bro. It's cheap and you will get your sets in no time.

I realize looking for a specific item can be a hassle.. so I will most likely add some mechanic to make this slightly easier.. but I am not a big fan of determined drops like that.. also it would get messy if I added some more sets etc.

I tried that and I got jack squat, rather unhappy to be honest :/ wasted like 10 mil so far and MAYBE picked up two legendaries.

I understand what you are saying, I am just unsure as to how I should go about picking set pieces up when they are a major pita let alone other legendaries.

Seems like most if not all new ARPGs are steering away from the "boss farming" paradigm. It can be a good way to obtain rare items due to higher "magic find" baseline on bosses, but ultimately telling someone "you should do that one specific thing over and over because it's by far the best way to obtain what you want" seems ill advised.

Personally, I'm all for mechanics helping us get what we want, e.g. gambling for specific item types, but I'm against specific loot attribution. I much prefer finding gear doing whatever I feel like doing at a given moment, and I wouldn't want to be tempted into farming specific content because it's by far the best way to obtain what I want. You'd either have to make the drop rate too high so I don't get bored farming, or make it way low so it's not "by far" the best way.

the only issue i seem to have, is legendaries being .. well.. common items.
i get 2-9 in 1 storage room run, with almost baseline Legendary difficulty mf.

1 run takes ~35s-1min

I definitely wouldn't be against a reduction in drop rates. Indeed, when I got my first character (a berserker at that) to 100 it felt like I got him geared up way too quickly, probably even quicker than in D3 seasons with gift sets.

But there's also the ease with which we can get crystals, allowing for lots of gambling.

the problem is with as many different legendaries and set items as there are and perhaps more being added in the future the grind will become WAY to real unless you have an staggeringly high MF which may or may not be easy to obtain.. (wouldn't know as I have enough issues as it is getting some items). I was mainly throwing an idea out there that works (Like WoW) and making a statement that finding set items is poop atm, other things I find a decent amount of but legendary/set items not so much.

I dunno man. In my other comment, I didn't mean to say I got all the legendaries I wanted in less than 30 minutes, but rather that I gradually and rather quickly (few hours) got everything I needed to progress through Anomalies at a decent rate. Not only that, but I had tons of fun doing so.

To me it's all about doing what you have fun doing, and let the gear come in, which includes crystals to spend on gambling.

Then the game obviously just plain hates my ass lol, because finding what I need and get enough crystals to gamble is a major pita. There a good local for crystal farming?.

I ran the Storage Area with crystals found gear (and pickup radius, very useful for efficiency), for that purpose. I flip-flopped between that and farming Maddoc, whichever I felt like doing at any moment.

Hmmm okay, thank you I might have to come up with something then :)

Once you start doing higher anomalies, you start getting drops like this from boss chests:

Guess it's typical, once you have gear to go higher, you see more drops. I've found it rough to get my desired set. I picked up 2 pieces quickly once I hit 100, then spent hours killing bosses and gambling for none. I saw so many of certain off hands that it feels like the odds are a little too skewed.

D3 is much faster, in large part due to the upgrade rare recipe and reroll set recipe. If I could take one of the 4 set helms that I got and reroll, I'd be thrilled.
