Missing Historical Officers
Continuing this list from back in SoI, I've compiled and updated a list of missing historical officers for anyone interested in adding them into the game, removing some that were added while adding in some new ones that I've read about. This list primarily focuses on the major western clans, sans the Mori, as they tend to be a bit want for officers.

#Ukita
Gohime – being the daughter of Toshiie Maeda, she would technically appear as a Maeda princess, but she was also the wife of Hideie Ukita (and the foster daughter of Hideyoshi, who wanted to marry her to his protégé). Hideyoshi was very complimentary of her intelligence and wit, going so far to say that if she were a man he would have made her chief advisor, and by all accounts she and Hideie had a happy marriage (after Hideie was exiled, she returned to the Maeda and never remarried, and instead sent him supplies). She was also a Christian, having been converted by Julia Naito, which might help explain Hideie’s remarkably tolerant attitude.
b.1574 d.1634

Monica – The daughter of Naoie Ukita, she was married to Teruzumi Akashi after Naoie took notice of his strategic acumen. They remained married throughout their whole lives, and she joined her husband in the Siege of Osaka as a nurse – after the castle’s fall, she vanished along with him.
b.? d.? (after 1615)

Hidetaka Ukita – Hideie’s oldest son and heir. He fought alongside his father at Sekigahara and was later exiled to Hachijojima with him.
b.? (after 1586, before 1589) d.?

#Amago
Tomohisa Amago – the second (or third, depending on your source) son of Haruhisa Amago, and infinitely more competent in every respect than his older brother. He filled his father’s shoes of being one of the main roadblocks to the Mori’s conquest of Chugoku – he lead the frontline defense of Gassantoda Castle during the Mori’s invasion (in that he’s credited as being one of the reasons it managed to hold out for four years against Yoshihisa’s incompetence and the Mori’s vast resources), and mentored many of the warriors who would fight for Amago restoration, Shikanosuke included.

His efforts weren’t enough to save the Amago, and after their fall he was confined to house arrest with his brothers for more than a decade. After Terumoto released him, he became a general for the Mori, and fought well during both Korea and Sekigahara. He outlasted all the other former Amago members and died peacefully.
b.? (after 1540) d.1623

Hidehisa Amago – the third son of Haruhisa. Though nowhere near the leader Tomohisa was, he was still noted as being a good warrior and was certainly more capable than Yoshihisa.
b.? (after 1540) d.?

Ujihisa Amago – the son of Hisayuki Amago. He fought in many of his father and Haruhisa’s campaigns, and later joined Shikanosuke Yamanaka in his crusade to restore the Amago.
b.? (before 1534) d.1578 (likely)

Hidetsuna Yokomichi – One of the Amago Ten braves. After the Amago’s fall he served Hisahide Matsunaga for a short time, but later answered Shikanosuke’s call to arms.
b.? d.1578 (likely)

Munenobu Akiage – One of the Amago Ten Braves, and alongside Shikanosuke and Hidetsuna, one of the only ones that can be confirmed to be real.
b.? d.1578 (likely)

Kogen Fujii – An older and mostly forgotten Amago general from the days of Tsunehisa, he also answered Shikanosuke's call to arms and successfully retook Kannabe castle from the Mori for a short time with the help of the locals, only to be killed in their counterattack.
b.? (before 1534) d. 1569

Mitsuyuki Yamanaka – Father of Shikanosuke Yamanaka. He came from a long line of Amago retainers (the Yamanaka, in fact, were the first major Amago vassals), and though he died young, he was still important enough to be given the title Mikawa no Kami.
b. 1519 d.1546

Michihisa Matsuda – Commander of the vital Shiraga Castle, a satellite of Gassantoda, he resisted the Mori’s advance into Izumo in 1563. Yoshihisa finally sent Tomohisa (along with Shikanosuke) to relieve him, only for him to be defeated by the numerically superior Mori. He managed to hold out for some 70 days until their water ran out, upon which he committed suicide and surrendered the garrison.
b.? d. 1563

Masayasu Matsuda – Son of Michihisa, he escaped the fall of Shiraga Castle, continued to resist the Mori at Gassantoda, and ultimately joined Shikanosuke’s Amago restoration army, where he perished.
b.? d. 1578 (likely)

Mitsu – The daughter of Kunihisa Amago and wife of Haruhisa Amago. Not much is known about her, but it is believed that after the Shinguto Corps (and Kunihisa) were purged by Haruhisa, she poisoned him in revenge during the Mori’s invasion (which would seem to be supported by Haruhisa’s sudden and unusually young death, especially during such a critical time for the Amago). Another theory holds that she died before Haruhisa, and that caused a falling out between him and Kunihisa which ultimately led to the Shinguto purge.
b.? d.?

#Ouchi
Teruhiro Ouchi – A cousin of Yoshitaka Ouchi, he’s perhaps most famous for his deeds after the Ouchi’s fall. While he fought during the Ouchi’s rule and was one of Harukata Sue’s supporters, he came into prominence after Yoshinaga’s death as the last of the Ouchi. Sorin Otomo supplied him with troops to so he could attempt to restore the Ouchi in Suo while the Mori were busy fighting the Otomo in Chikuzen and Buzen – he saw some initial success but was ultimately overwhelmed.

He ended up fleeing to none other than the Ouchi’s old rivals of the Amago, who, hard-pressed by the Mori themselves, welcomed him with open arms. He continued to fight bravely after the Amago’s fall, and joined Shikanosuke’s Amago Restoration forces, only to finally be killed by Motoharu Kikkawa in battle.
b.? (likely before 1534) d. 1569 (70?)

Nagafusa Sue – Harukata Sue’s son, he fought with him in Itsukushima. He was ultimately killed alongside his father at Itsukushima, or by the Sugi with Takamori Toida as revenge for Harukata’s purges.
b.? d.1555

Fusanaga Miyagawa – An Ouchi retainer and one of Harukata Sue’s vassals, he was in charge of the (and was defeated during) the Ouchi’s preliminary invasion of Aki in the lead-up to Itsukushima.
b.? d.1554

Suzu – The adopted daughter of Yoshitaka Ouchi, from the Naito clan, and Takamoto Mori’s wife. In her early years in the Mori household, she helped managed diplomacy with the Ouchi, and after Takamoto’s death, along with her brothers-in-law, provided support and advice to Terumoto in leading the Mori.
b.1527 d.1572

#Chosokabe
Moritaka Chosokabe – The eldest son of Morichika Chosokabe, along with at least two of his brothers he joined his father in the Siege of Osaka and fought bravely. Was ultimately captured and beheaded with the rest of his family after the Battle of Yao.
b.? d.1615

Masaie Okunomiya – Chosokabe vassal, he fought in the unification of Shikoku and later accompanied the Chosokabe Army to Kyushu, and died at the battle of Hetsugigawa trying to protect Nobuchika.
b.1554 d.1587

#Otomo
Yoshinori Otomo – The son of Yoshimune Otomo, and misidentified as Yoshinobu Otomo in missionary logs (also not to be confused with his grandfather, Yoshiaki). While his father was held in Yamaguchi under the Mori’s protection after he lost his territory in Kyushu, he was sent to Edo under the Tokugawa’s care – it was there that he struck up a friendship with Hidetada Tokugawa. While Yoshimune tried to reconquer his old lands during Sekigahara, he was supposed to remain and fight with the Tokugawa, and was later made into a one of Hidetada’s Hatamoto for his service.
b.1577 d.1612 (some sources have said 1639)

Reino Shibata – Referenced in missionaries scripts as being the ‘Hercules of Bungo’. He was a renowned warrior, and due to being a Christian, a bureaucrat in the Otomo administration. After his devoutly Buddhist brother defected the Shimazu, he led a suicide charge into their ranks during their invasion to prove his loyalty (Sorin was reportedly distraught at hearing news of his death).
b.? d.1586

Joshin Mihara – a noble from Chikugo and supposedly a master swordsman. Not to be confused with Jonin Tawara. He joined Joun Takahashi in fending off the Shimazu and died fighting after repelling wave after wave of Shimazu soldiers. He supposedly threw himself into a valley so his opponents couldn’t take his head.
b.1548 d.1586

Minbunosho Fukuda – one of Joun Takahashi’s retainers, he was placed in charge of one of Iwaya’s garrisons. He managed to hold off the massive Shimazu Army for a few weeks – longer than most of Joun’s other commanders – but ultimately was killed with the rest of the castle’s defenders.
b.? d.1586

Ietada Ando – one of the Tachibana’s four generals and Dosetsu’s senior retainer, he greatly assisted him in subduing the fiercely independent clans of Chikuzen. After Dosetsu’s death he retired, already in his early 70s, and was succeeded by his son.
b. 1515 d.1599

Tarazane Ando – son of Ietada, he joined Joun Takahashi in the Siege of Iwaya where his untimely death at the hands of the Shimazu would see his role as one of the Tachibana’s four generals get filled in by Shigeyuki Ono.
b.? d.1586

Daizen Takano – one of the Tachibana’s four generals, he was tasked with defeating the Akizuki and Tsukushi when they rebelled against the Otomo (on many occasions), and continued to follow Muneshige during his exile.
b.1540 d.1621

Akitoshi Tachibana – Lord of Tachibana Castle, he was an Otomo vassal until 1563, when he defected to the Mori. Sorin dispatched Akitsura Bekki to deal with him a few years later when the Mori invaded Chikuzen, in which he was later rewarded with Tachibana’s castle and name.
b.? d.1568

Chikasada Otomo – A brother of Sorin, he was ultimately given a massive army and charged with subduing the Ryuzoji of Hizen. This would turn into the Imayama debacle in which he committed suicide, but the Otomo were still strong enough to force the Ryuzoji into a favorable peace treaty.
b.? (one source says 1550, but it’s improbable) d.1570

Maxentia – Daughter of Sorin Otomo, she met Hidekane Kobayakawa (Mori) during the Toyotomi’s invasion of Kyushu and married him. She was given the nickname ‘Princess Mulberry’ for her hobby of raising Silkworms, and died shortly after her husband.
b.? d.1605

Luis Frois – I’m a bit disappointed that we have William Adams and Yasuke but not Luis Frois. While he’s most memorable for his employment to Nobunaga and his writings while at Gifu, he also spent a great deal of time in Kyushu, serving as Sorin and Yoshimune’s chaplain.
b.1532 (as he only first arrived in Japan in 1563, it would have to be 1548 in-game) d.1597

#Ryuzoji
Ienobu Ryuzoji – the third son of Takanobu Ryuzoji, he was eventually adopted by the Goto family. He converted to Christianity which enraged Takanobu – he renounced it for a time but was immediately baptized again upon hearing news of his father’s death. Later fought in Korea and helped break the Siege of Ulsan.
b.1563 d.1622

Hikotsuru – the second wife of Naoshige Nabeshima. He fell in love with her for her wit and cleverness, and apparently proposed directly to her. After Okitanawate, she helped Naoshige maintain stability within the Ryuzoji and when Hideyoshi Toyotomi visited her during the Kyushu Campaign, aware of his lechery, she met him with disheveled hair and makeup.
b.1541 d.1629

Just to confirm, so these weren't included due to licensing issues, or was there another reason?

No liscensing issues, they just weren't included to behin with. Koei doesn't add in every last person possible, though there are some exclusions that have been egrigious. In fact, most NA installments have gradually added more and more characters into the mix.

Thank you for posting this here as well. Can you add stats and stuff for everyone?

How do you guys learn all this stuff? I would love if the History Channel taught this, but all we see is WWII, American history, Europe...

Anything Asian related is nonexistent.

You're welcome! I'll get around to it, but it'll take a few days since it appears they adjusted a lot of stats for Ascension (seriously, Hideaki is now a better character than Terumoto).

I do a lot of reading.

(Wait, the History Channel still actually plays history!? I thought it was just devoted to proving the exsistence of aliens nowadays.)

In other news, I've discovered that Luis Frois' picture is already registered in the game.

The stats haven't changed too much from one game to another so I should say that in game balance is pratically the same. Doing for new the guys you just added + Kogen Fuji should sufice. I'm counting on you Justinian!

All right, an updated list for those who don't want to have to do the guesswork of adding in all of these officers themselves. It's only an outline - I'm not certain how balanced these stats are - but I think this is more or less decent enough.

All right, a slight update for Kansai - I doubt I'll be doing anyone else after this.

#Hashiba
Iesada Kinoshita – Nene’s brother and Hideyoshi’s brother in law. He was one of Hideyoshi’s earliest supporters, and aided him throughout his rise to power. Father of Hideaki Kobayakawa, during Sekigahara he was lord of Himeji before being relocated to Bitchu as reward for guarding Nene.
b.1543 d.1608
Tenet,NTRL Ideal,Profit LEA,68 VAL,59 INT,68 POL,62 Tactic,Swift Growth,Adjutant

Genba Osaki – Not much is known about him personally – some speculated he was actually Katsuyori Takeda – but his contributions to the Fukushima were immense. A famed horseman and warrior, he encouraged Masanori to side with the east at Sekigahara, kept the Fukushima stable during the conflict, and advised them to surrender peacefully after they were stripped of their land to avoid destruction.

Shigekatsu Maeda – Son of Gen’i Maeda and lord of Yakami Castle, he converted to Christianity at a young age. Apparently went insane and ordered most of his retainers to commit suicide, which saw him exiled to Oki as a result.
d.1582 d.1621
Tenet,PGRS Ideal,Fame LEA,47 VAL,54 INT,44 POL,53 Tactic,Rage Growth,POL

Joao Rodrigues – Known as ‘the Interpreter’, he was both a personal friend to Hideyoshi and Ieyasu’s personal interpreter. He moved to Japan at the age of fifteen (quite convenient for the game), and quickly became famous for his mastery of multiple eastern languages and his linguistic studies. He first met Hideyoshi in 1591 during a diplomatic delegation with Alessandro Valignano, and his friendship with Taiko was strong enough that he has been partly credited with the mission’s survival after the incident at Nagasaki (he would also try to convert Hideyoshi when he was on his deathbed). Often used as a go between by both Ieyasu and Hideyoshi for both interactions with the Jesuits, Portuguese and other foreigners, he held no insignificant amount of political power but was replaced by William Adams in 1610.
b.1562 d.1633
Tenet,PGRS Ideal,Spirit LEA,61 VAL,24 INT,88 POL,75 Tactic,Cheer Growth,Diplomatic Monk

#Oda
Shigemasa Nakagawa – Not related to the Settsu-Nakagawa. A trusted Oda retainer, Nobunaga placed him in charge of Kyoto’s security, before a quarrel with one of Katsuie Shibata’s retainers saw him stripped of his position. Nobunaga later pardoned him and made him Azuchi’s castellan. He served Nobukatsu Oda after Honnoji and fought at Komaki-Nagakute.
b.? d.?
Tenet,NTRL Ideal,Profit LEA,57 VAL,69 INT,43 POL,52 Tactic,War Cry Growth,VAL

Fuyu – Daughter of Nobunaga and Ujisato Gamo’s wife. Nobunaga married her to Ujisato after his first campaign – he was thirteen, she was only eleven. Despite their youth, they reportedly had a happy marriage and Fuyu later became famous for her beauty. Remaining faithful to Ujisato even after his death, she fled from Hideyoshi after he attempted to take her.

Mitsuharu Akechi – Mitsuhide’s cousin, he was one of his oldest supporters. Joining him during the Honnoji Incident, Mitsuhide dispatched him with a smaller force to fight off Hidemasa Hori while he fought Hideyoshi. Defeated, he committed suicide and composed his death poem with his own blood.

Kaneaki Mimaki – Akechi retainer, not much is known of him except for his efforts at Yamazaki; after the Akechi forces fell into a rout, he rallied two hundred of his men and led a suicide charge into the Hashiba forces to buy Mitsuhide more time to escape.

Maria Kyogoku – Elder sister of Nagamasa Azai, and mother of Takatsugu and Takatomo. Baptized with her husband in 1581 only to be quickly widowed, she took up preaching. Later in life she moved to Wakasa under her son’s protection, and then to more remote Tango, dying peacefully in a hut owned by a Buddhist nunnery. She was reportedly beloved by the people of her hometown.

Complete achievements my friend, you unlock everyone. There are a lot of extra officers for every taste: historical, fictional (Sanada 10 braves, the Satomi officers..), historical but not in Sengoku (Yoshitsune Minatoto, Dokan Ota...)

Ah. I'm still missing three achievements (one of which I suppose is how Soun Hojo keeps eluding me), so that explains it. I was just hoping it wasn't one of the scenario based-unlocks.

Anyways, I took her and Mancio Konishi off the list to account for that.
