Sons i believe only happen when you are 32 and up and you are married not 100% certain though
Me: *sipping tea
Random retainer: "My Lord, your son/daughter is ready for the coming of age ceremony"
Me: *spit out my tea ...........I have a child!?
wtf xD
thanks btw
For sons, your player character must be married and of legal age so the youngest age would be 16 to have a son but unlike maidens you get announcement about having a son born into your clan so once you get the message add 16 years to your current time to know when he’ll come of age (provided you don’t die and pick your son as successor).
One thing I’ve noticed when playing Kenshin Uesugi/ Kagetora Nagao the only fictional maidens you can get are from vassals and fictional sons never occur for him this is due to his historically having no biogeological children.
Here is a fun fact if your fictional son is picked as a successor they gain both his farther and mother’s immediate family as kin, for example if Nobunaga Oda has fictional son and is married to Kicho, the fictional son will gain all of Nobunaga’s sons, daughters, father and brothers as kin, for Kicho he will gain her brother and father. However, unlike Nobunaga, Nobunaga's brothers children will not count as kin to your fictional son.
It merely means that Maidens are ALSO officers?
