Night of the Dead questions

So uh, I know how to do Thomas' quest, but how do I talk to Shawn's dad? The tanuki ghost keeps hinting its possible at the memorial room, but I have no clue how since I don't think Connor has any of his dad items. Or is it case of something possible later in the game?

The chef (Ifetaya?) also has some information on that. Talk to her if you haven't yet. As for the item, you could just go to the memorial, save the game, and experiment in order to find out whether you already have what it takes or not.

Umm, of course I already did both of that. Nothing in memorial prompts me to talk to them. Thats why I made a thread to ask what you are supposed to do <_<

So you're saying the memorial doesn't offer you any choices on summoning Shawn's dad, even though you've talked to the chef and you have some food on you? In that case, I don't know what's wrong.

I think did it before the Night of the Dead. The item that worked for me is the lucky coin you stole at the beginning, but since a lot of players probably won't have it on them, there has to be another way. The third choice I was given on what to use was something that all players will be able to offer at any time, but I didn't test whether it works, too.

Oh, maybe its case of missing food then? I mean, I did have apples with me, but I guess something like appletart or whatever minotaur gives you for beating him in chess(chose money option) would work.

(I did have wine, before I gave them all away as gifts. So umm, my bad. I haven't really used food items for anything but giving them away as gifts)

But yeah, I totally forgot the food part <_< So uh gonna try that out but I assume that was it

I had an appletart and other stuff on me but in the end I only used an apple, so if you had apples that should have worked, too. :/

Ah. I realized what the issue was:

I somehow clicked everything in the memorial(plaque, wreath, the painting...) BUT the raven

I facepalmed really hard <_< This is really embarassing

You dont need to wait for the night of the dead to talk to him, I was able to talk to him like the second day i got access there i think, You also dont need an item. There is an option where you use yourself since you are his son, you are his belonging.

To speak to him you need to have spoken to the Chef and completed the Gris Gris that allows you to speak to ghosts, then to just have an apple on you. Make sure that you have ALSO spoken to the chef regarding summoning the spirits of the Dead.

It is possible to speak to your dad before the Night of the Dead by clicking on the raven, using the apple and cutting yourself. Ask him everything, then leave, you will be transported back to your room and the day will end.

With that in mind, I had a different question.

I've helped all ghosts I've met so far and spoken to Dad. Is there any special/hidden secret ghost (apart from backers/Easter Eggs) that appears during Night of the Dead and is time sensitive?

I have a similar question to Rivereyes:
What are the missable things during the night of the Dead?

- talking to Shawn's dad (if it cannot be done later - I did it earlier)
- talk to various Ghosts (all I've found where diverting, but not world shaking)
- there was one Ghost who looked for "Minou" in front of Terk's room, is this some quest? Shawn did not write it down in his journal
- Thomas Quest (talk to him at the evening until you can join him, if I gather that right)


Speaking with Shawn's Dad is a one time thing? Or can it be done again?

Thomas's quest also takes place during the Nights of the Dead. Other than that, and the easter eggs you mentioned, I'm not aware of any time-sensitive ghosts.

There are two more ghosts you can help, but you won't meet them until after the Nights of the Dead.

The ghost looking for the lost cat? If you want to help out, go to the rec room and talk to the ghost cat there. Then go back up to the mezzanine and tell the ghost the cat is in the rec room. It's just a little diversionary quest.
