BUG> Changing Demerits in Terk's Book Does Nothing

I have tested this numerous times : breaking into Terk's office after-hours and changing my demerits in his book, had absolutely no effect on my demerit count. I am certain that this could not be the intended behavior of this action.

Yeah same. I figured cus they were old students demerits changing them actually did nothing

No guys, c'mon. This was obvious. Demerits are a main game mechanic (It's automatic game over at 100) and there is a great tradition in pop culture of truant students erasing/modifying their demerits (going all the way back to the seminal Animal House, to which Terk owes a large part of his heritage). Breaking into Terk's office, I had two things in mind: getting dirt on the other students by reading their files and erasing my demerits.

I was conflicted here. I notice both that the demerits don't change, and that when examining the book it says it's from previous years.

But then... why would Shawn's name be in a demerit book from previous years?

Shawn's name is not in the book on Terk's desk, the game clearly states this. It is from last year. Probably safe to assume that Terk carries around the current year's record with him.

Ok, fair enough, then why/what is Shawn changing?

Also, if this is true, why does the dev above consider this a bug?

It clearly states that none of the names in the book are familiar. The book is from a previous year and does NOT have Shawn's name in it. It's a red herring.

Most likely, the original intended idea was to have a way for Shawn to micromanage his demerits (apart from avoiding them completely). Somewhere along the way and across the different design cycles, some text was added (and never proofed) that contradicted this design. The option itself remained.

Deveoping a game is a time consuming and highly complicated process, the above is nothing shocking and happens frequently in similar games. It's really good that it will be patched.

Nothing shocking or game breaking, but good to polish all elements of this little gem as much as possible!
