Why does my Mouse not work?

So I understand the basic idea of the game to move around and raise and lower platforms using those limited green balls. My problem is not with the puzzle aspect but the controls.

Right now the game is not playable with my mouse and keyboard as the mouse refuses to move and select the platform I want because it just stays in the middle of the screen the whole time which makes even the first tutorial impossible, my xbox 360 controller helped a bit but it still impossible to use on most platforms and very slow as you have to keep constaly moving the camera to get it to select a platform and some are just impossible.

Why will the game not let me select a platform it should be quick and easy. I have Windows 10, up-to-date game and no technical issues with my PC.

I believe the mouse actually works for about 2 seconds at the start of the level and then bugs up and gets stuck in the center of the screen no matter what I press or settings I change.

Did you turn on Enable Controller in Settings? When enabled this blocks the cursor in the middle of the screen.
