Thank you.
Unfortunately, I don't speak russian, that is why it is in english - but if you could help with spreading the word among russian players you know, it would be greatly appreciated.
---
К сожалению, я не говорю по-русски, поэтому он на английском - но если бы вы могли помочь в распространении информации среди русских игроков, которых вы знаете, я был бы очень признателен.
Based on the responses timeline chart, the very max of the answers would be around 130, so there is no need to wait with the offer, we have the answer to our main question, so I will compose the offer and post it here once done.
I will offer BE 500 usd/month, that is a safe amount based on the replies.
If they are interested and I get a reply, we can use the following model for the future:
I will setup a crowdfunding platform and the operation will be donation based.
You can support the project however you see fit. There will be free players and paying (donating) players getting the same game, so the cost distribution will NOT be equal among players, don't count on that.
Once we have a working server again, we can discuss reward options for those supporting the game and how we can motivate others to contribute.
The ultimate goal would be, if we could create a sort of partnership with BE, which means that we, as a community prioritize the most critical developments, ask for an official offer and crowdfund it.
Alea iacta est.
Why does nobody bring up the fact that the most important change / update / patch the game needs is to add 'bots' to the matches -
so even if there's 3 people on trying to play a match can still start.
The biggest issue the game had is people log on, try to join a match, see they're in a queue with 3 other people,
wait around for 20 minutes,
then give up and leave and play another game.
Obivously a game will 'die and wither' if whenever people try to play it they can't.
Nobody wants to sit around doing nothing so is there any way this issue can be addressed?
Put another way - the questionnaire had some good questions, but one of the main ones should've been -
" If Bots are added to matches how much would you pay per month? "
I would pay 5 dollars for the game 'as is', without bots,
but would gladly pay 15 if bots were in there,
I would also pay for patching the game to put in bots.
This also would allow possible 'ghost' matches where players could play any mission _Without_ affecting the 'world map',
allowing people that want to see the game, it's different zones, using different characters and builds, a chance to do so.
A sort of 'instanced' ghost match using bots that doesn't register on the world map as the 'point of contention', if anybody gets what that means.
It's no wonder this game, as _any game_, died if everyone's forced to play the same 3 mission zones with the same races cause that's all the player population can support.
Note I didn't say the game's problem is 'player base', that's very ignorant when people talk like that about games (games should be judged on their own 'merit', not the 'player base', which will always fluctuate),
but the point is without bots nobody can actually try different races, classes, zones, etc.
I'm trying to bring point out because this is the middle ground to actually getting people to play the game - besides the 'hardcore' EC veterans,
there are people that want to play the game in a more casual way to see what it offers - different playstyles (races), different classes, different zones, etc.
You can't have any of that without bots.
I have no idea how feasible or 'possible' that all is what I do know is it would be an essential part of 'reviving' EC and actually having it be able to keep going,
Yes I said I would 'pay' for EC per month, but obviously not for long if my payments are for nothing more than seeing myself lined up in 'queue' with 3 other people for 5 hours.
Think about it.
in principle would be enough for me if you bring the servers online or just set up yourself and from me about the Steam console directly join without the pve nonsense or worldmap more like bf4 or alpha days of EC with blood :D
even the tabletop trailers are bloodier than EC ever was
what would be no difficulty if ledigtlich the rights holder of the game gives his ok.
