Patch 1.1 does not work, 55 hours saves are dead
55 hours into the game, does not load anything anymore with the 1.1. I even didn't want to update it until Steam f insisted and started itself the update process.

Thank you devs:

## UPDATE

For those of you for whom 1.1 does not work even without mods completely, as it was for me - the game was crashing on my game saves. I have found a way to revert Steam version with:

1. Open steam console by openening steam://open/console URL in the browser
2. Enter:

download_depot 3751260 3751261 6714378162039786936

where

app_id = 3751260 depot_id = 3751261 manifest_id = 6714378162039786936

from https://steamdb.info/depot/3751261/manifests/.

3. Wait until it downloads the 1.0.5 version to the steam/steamapps/content/...
4. Disable in steam for a game auto-updates.
5. Copy-Paste the content of the downloaded depot on top of your 1.1 install.
6. Play.

Additional info:

download_depot <appid> <depotid> [<target manifestid>] [<delta manifestid>] [<depot flags filter>] : download a single depot

> You only need to worry about the first three arguments to it. Type the command, then the app ID, depot ID, and the manifest ID of the depot version you want. Wait for Steam to download the depot. You won't see any indication of progress, but you can tell it's downloading by looking at the network usage on your downloads page. The download can pause/resume if your connection goes out, but won't if you restart the client. After the download is done, Steam will show you where the files were downloaded to

Это из-за модов, которые не обновлены под новый патч.

I encountered this too.

In my case I had been using 2 mods using Vortex - "Better Story Timer - 90 days" and "Better Story Timer - Traits Have No Time Cost". I got it going again by updating both Vortex and the two mods to their latest versions. Worked first time after doing that. My best guess is that the mods impact the save files, and that changes in 1.1 introduced issues that required a mod update to parse the changes the mod makes to the mod file on saving. This would explain why people are experiencing this without mods enabled - assuming they previously did use some and there are traces in their save files.

I also checked the mod changelog and it contained this: "1.7 - No Time Cost for Skills/Traits updated for 1.1.0. All other files/versions don't require updates." So, looks like some mods will need to be patched to play nice.

Hope this helps someone.
In my case it is not because of the mods. I removed all of them, and it is still was crashing.
Just because you've removed them it doesn't mean they haven't altered your save data.

That's not how mods work.
