Similar games to Infernax???
This game is grade A awesome. The art style, side scrolling action adventure with rpg elements. Fairly quick story, mulitple endings, gore.... this game has it all basically.

Can anyone recommend other games similar to infernax that are just as fun? I need to scratch the gaming itch and i don't have any good games that are of similar quality and style.

I've played The Messenger, Hollow Knight, Cross Code, Monster Sanctuary and many others. I'm really hoping someone in the community knows of a gem I haven't played yet.

Thanks!

... Have you heard of the metroidvania genre? Just write "metroidvania" in the search bar and steam will give you the top. You can also always go back to the classics Metroid and Castlevania games. I´ll mention you some that you may like:
- Unsighted: longer than infernax, not as long as cross code.
- Phoenotopia: an acquired taste but I got 50 hrs out of it (personal recommendation: just apply all of the assistence options or else you´ll hate the game combat)
- Astalon: probably the best "retro"-metroidvania, but you´ll need a guide for some things
- Steamworld dig 2: You don´t really need to play 1, but is not bad either. Just inferior
- Blasphemous 1 & 2: You won´t understand any of the lore after finishing, but if you focus on the gameplay maybe they´re the best metroidvanias (only second to HK according to most people)
- Voidwrought: It looks like a copy of HK, but there´s a demo. Give it a try, it´s good.

Nice thanks for the suggestions. I have looked into the metroidvania tag, and i feel like there are so many games in there now it's hard to find the diamonds amoungst the coal.

I'vbe beated Astalon, Steamworld and Blasphemous but i couldn't get into unsighted and haven't seen phoenotopia or voidwrough (which i will be checking out soon now though).

I think i've been blessed with so many great games in the past few years like Bloodstained, Axiom Verge, Metroid Dread, Enviromental space station alpha, Time spinners, Infernax, that it's getting hard to scratch the metroidvania itch unless the game is very very very well produced and with tons of great content.
If you don't mind less "edgy" games I would highly recommend Monster Boy in Cursed Kingdom, the entire Shantae series, Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labirinth, Touhou: Luna Nights and my personal favorite, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

I played Deedlit, it was pretty unique and i wish they had more to explore and do it was pretty fun. I haven't played monster boy though, that is one i'll have to check out and see whats up with it. Bloodstained is pretty damn good for a spiritual successor to SOTN and I loved it. Thank you for the suggestions !
I feel the Metroid clone genre isn't quite a match as Infernax is more of a "Castlevania 2 clone" than it is to Metroidvania.

And, yes, there's a lot of Metroid clones out there. Some VERY good ones for me are Hollow Knight, Blasphemous, Iconoclasts, Astalon, The Messenger, Guacamelee 1&2, Ender Lilies, Souldiers, Aeterna Noctis, Momodora, FIST Forged in Shadow Torch, and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom.

Also saw mention of Phoenotopia which is a fantastic game and is closer to a Zelda 2 clone than a Metroid game. Other good games of this design are Chronicles of Teddy and Elliot Quest.

Bloodstained curse of the moon were bad ass. They reminded me so much of castlevania 3 but way better. Thanks !
