(Well, not exactly, theres a spell that makes your Mace shoot holy fireballs later on)
The game seems to be pretty much designed around the reach of the mace anyways.
(Plus you can play with a Barbarian or a Mage, both seemed to have higher reach (I only checked 10min each), but they sacrifice the shield).
(you may wanna check out Grime if you want weapon choices. Toy Odyssey seems ... well... like a mobile game xD )
1 Wizard Magic Blast
1 Mace
1 Giant Axe
1 m60 Machine Gun
1 Greatsword...
I mean.. thats 5 main weapons depending on yer playthrough ;)
Honestly the mace is a bit boring. different weapons are needed badly.
Ugh, I just found out through research online, that the only way to have different weapons is to enter a name that is different when you start as some sort of a cheat code....
This is sad, I don't want to have to cheat to get different weapons. They should have had a small variety of weapons available through the base game, like you go to a store and can buy them through the game world. That would have been much more immersive. Only have access to maces the whole way through... it makes me a bit sad =/ I was expecting a little more.
The game is specifically designed as an homage to NES era games like Zelda II and Castlevania II, and as such it's really not meant to follow in the footsteps of a game with a lot of differing weapon options ala a SotN. I get where you're coming from, but it may just be that Infernax is meant to be something different than you were expecting based on more modern design.
