Mailbox does not work.

Twice now, i've checked my mailbox, and no presents

Hi,
we are trying to find out what might cause this for you. Up to now we were not able to reproduce this issue with testing pc's all over the world, so for now we assume that it has something to do with a local setup.
Please check the following points to make sure everything is setup correctly on your end:
1.) Check your local PC time. If it has been changed for any reason, you might get no gifts. Especially if your savegame has been saved once with a custom time you might endup getting no gifts or no new events ingame as well.
2.) Check your firewall settings. In order to get the gifts the game is communicating with the internet. If your local firewall is blocking that communication you will get no gifts.
3.) Check if you are actually onlne when trying to get your gift. An easy way to check if the game is online and communicating with our server is by clicking the news screen button in the main menu. When you are seeing the news screen your gift should be recievable as well.
4.) Check your used Antivirus. Sometimes an Antivirus can block an internet connection of a program which is not fully trusted.

Did all of that.

1: is correct, and never has changed.
2: is correct, and nothing is recorded on my firewall log.
3: works with othert games, gets the news in PK, and lets me add worlds from the workshop. Looks to be online.
4: happens even with antivirus completely disabled. And none of the block logs show anything.

does the mailbox have to be constructed BEFORE the date?
Or if it is built during the giveaway, does it not work?

Either way, there's a problem, because i built the MB in the previous giveaway, and still had it for the current scrolls one.

did that. nothing in it, though that could be because the event has passed.

So, on a new universe, i can get the carpet blocks.

So why can't i get stuff from the mailbox i built in my home island? And how do i fix it?

This is because of the way the old universes were generated.
Your issue will be forwarded to the devs for a solution, in a future update.

I also hadn't recieved a gift, but just this weekend. I then tried to make a mail box in my one, existing creative mode world to find that I couldn't. So I deleted it. I made a new adventure world and tried to make a mailbox there, but found getting the materials too tedious for my already lacking patience. So I went to my main adventure world and my gift was in the mail box.

Another note, after I deleted the creative mode world, I closed the game completely and then started it up again before making the crafting table and draft table. Also, the announcement button, on the main screen, was not available while my creative mode world existed, but was once I deleted it and started the game up again.
