Creative Mode
Since this is a mix of sandbox building RPG simulator all at once, I don't see where a Creative Mode would hurt this game.

Within the Creative Mode, you should be able to:

- free fly around the world
- have an unlimited pool of any block within your inventory
- have every crafting recipe being unlocked

With this, we could be truly sandboxing in this game. Of course, this should be an optional mode.

As I am only building in this game... Yes!

With all due respect I am against this idea. It's good the way it is. It adds a flavour to the game. Creative Mode would be too easy.

I also like the idea that you need to grind for the stuff you build with. Sometimes it's not easy, which is a good choice, I think.

... It should be an option. Those seeking a challenge can still play the Normal mode.

Grinding materials in this game is a greater matter than in most other crafting & building games, making it more difficult to have bigger building projects.

Problem is that normal mode ISN'T a challenge and there's no way to make multiples of certain items in the game. There should always, ALWAYS be either an associated recipe for any given type of block in the game, or an associated recipe. Things like blue lantern have neither.

Again, IMO Creative Mode would destroy the game. Let the players grind for the resources. It's good the way it is. :steamhappy:

How would it destroy the game exactly? A creative mode would be entirely ancillary. If you didn't like it, you could ignore it. I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just want to know how the game would collapse with a lego mode.

Exactly. It's an option!

If you like to a have a dirt castle, you'd need to grind dirt blocks. Of course, mining dirt blocks isn't challenging, thing is still, that it takes *time*. It's taking your time, it is grinding by all means.

Creative mode is for building and messing around. Grinding or progression shouldn't be something to matter. There is no crafting game without a Creative mode and this is undoubtly a basic thing. Why would Portal Knight make an exception? It's about building and crafting. A Creative mode would allow alot of people just to focus on building their own worlds without having to mind recipes and farming blocks from one place to use them at another place.

Man, just allow people to have their Creative mode and play your vanilla game, if you wish so.

Terraria didn't have a creative mode for the longest time, and it was still one of the best ones out there.

My biggest issue is that a creative mode completely nullifies the purpose to earning anything. Why play when I can just have everything handed to me?

Because without limitations, you can go creative, bruh. This is the purpose of a CREATIVE mode, to focus solely on building things.

to be fair some one could go to creative mode give them self good set of armor. then go back to survival for easy grind. they should make a way where your character can't go to survival if made for creative mode and vise versa. i do agree they should make more sandbox for people that like to build while keeping it from survival mode so people don't add stuff to the avatar inventory from creative.

Yes, I understand that point entirely. Here's where I'd be willing to compromise:

There could be a creative mode, but you still need to earn things in the story before they can be used freely in creative. If you've got at least 1 of an item there, you will have it for unlimited uses in creative. You need to unlock the ability to use them in creative. Adds further depth and incentive to actually play the game, while allowing people to have their creative mode as well.

Agreed, this seems like a great solution. That way people who just want to build can do so unencumbered while people in it for the grind don't feel cheated.

agree with this earning stuff for creative mode works as well. with this u can can't use end game stuff till u get one character there. i would still like it if they just made it where u cant have a creative mode avatar can't go to survival and vis versa. either way would work it would make both sides happy in some way.
