Open World?
Only on level 5 so mayb eI just havent gotten there yet but do you get to a point in which you can just play in an open world instead of these tiny islands?

Is there a point in actually making a house other than just for fun?

So far, pretty fun game.

Curious about this myself before I purchase the game as "Travel between randomly generated 3D sandbox worlds" gives me the impression I can go back and fourth between worlds. From what I've seen on streams it seems fairly linear, get 6 portal blocks and go to the next island (repeat).

If the worlds are tiny like that, this game is going to bomb.

i honestly like the small ilands

Why would anyone like small islands? Having to teleport back and forth from tiny island to tiny island is not fun at all. I was expecting a sandbox. Might as well make this game single player.

OP: I made level 3 my own "home" world, because the layout was good. It has a castle/abbey, and I just put all my chests, and crafting things in there, then when I continue my world portals, I hop home.

When you are in a portal (hit M) you can set a portal to be home or a home world.

That's all that I've seen are the uses of homes. Not getting eaten by night time monsters.

Whats the difference between progressive based mini worlds and a entire open world content? You teleport through worlds to grab exactly what you need or you run endlessly around in an open world hoping to find things.

Portal Knights currently has 44 levels. There was no plans to make a massive, single open world.

Are there plans to make bigger levels? The small level setting is okay initially, but further down the line, it would be nice to see some larger biomes.

Eh, maybe previous titles spoiled me. Just seems like this would be the perfect game except for the "no open world" thing.

I plan to continue playing Portal Knights as I love the game play, but are there any similar games that ARE open world that anyone can suggest?

Imagine the concept of Trove but Portal Knights. This game kinda reminds me of Trove.
