Minecraft loses most of it's fun after getting diamoneds.... then the rest is just one big farm and grinding fest. Starmade is an infinite universe with many planets and stations ot explore, and it's mutiplayer. It's also has built-in greifer protection for factions (make a station a faction home, and generally it can't be touched, depending on server settings).
Don't get me wrong I like Starmade but it is a bit buggy depending on the system and hardware, I'd say this though. Like Nightwalker said eventually Minecraft becomes bland with no objectives and even with mods it's only really good with friends.
Though Starmade is good, it's not as graphical as Portal Knights or Minecraft and can run like crap if your system is quite low.
This game is far from complete and I don't know when or if it will be updated anytime in the near future.
