Something like an Minecraft's adventure mode might be appropriate for these time sensitive islands - perhaps a bit more extended, to allow you to build nerd poles to reach places with dirt and to remove decoration items, or just make the recipes available.
If you think about it, the structures that are randomly generated in existing worlds have a similar problem if they affect a player structure, or on the other side of the spectrum, if they begin to not generate because you've modified some of the terrain.
Is this the new standard of Portal Knights ?
Those of us above the age of 40 and a bit slow on the fingers , we have absolutely NO chance to get anywhere like this . We have the normal game , but we wont be able to finish the harder events . If , this is the new standard .
Why not let us have the old event timer , where we had a day or 2 depending on the difficulty of the event ?
Even us slow ones , could have a chance back then .
If Keen doesn´t want to loose the young players , then make a hole new difficulty level just for them . I realize that they wont have fun at the slow pace , so a harder difficulty level would be the answer . So that Portal Knights would have 2 (or more) difficulties .
2 hours for an event , is not fun . Too damn stressful , that´s what it is . And stress is a killer .
And could we also please have the water back at the lower level islands ?
I do hope Keen plans to keep ALL their players . Not just the young ones .
No offense, but just because -YOU- are an older gamer who struggles to complete an event which should take you 15 minutes max anyway, doesn't mean -ALL- older gamers will leave this game just because -YOU- have a problem. These new 1/2 hour events work just fine, and it paces the game with a little more upbeat tempo, which most of us do actually enjoy. And if you happen to miss an event, so what, you'll have a new one every hour. and most of these events don't actually give any loot other then the orb.
Is that Your answer ?
Did you even read all of my comment ?
What about those above 50 who are even slower on their fingers ?
Or what above those who are above 60 , and are yet even more slow on their fingers ?
They used to have fun in this game . Last mentioned are lucky , if they get passed the "parrots everywhere" event (without getting stressed or killed) .
I was not talking about me leaving the game . I didn´t even mention that . So perhaps you should stop your conclusions of what you think , and stick to what has been said ?
I was talking about implementing difficulties , so everyone could have fun again .
Because of the new timers on events , us slower gamers (and those really slow) , are avoiding events more and more .
There is in fact , less and less fun for us , in this game .
And this game really used to BE fun .
You just repeated yourself, You play a shot deer at this point, Just because you're 40+ doesn't mean you're entitled to an easier game. 40+ doesn't mean you get a heart attack if an event only lasts an hour or so. You claim to be 40+ so it's safe to assume you're not 50 or 60, so why even bother pulling those people into it? people who are 50 or 60 most likely don't even game, and if they do, they even more likely don't play portal knights. Just because -YOU- dislike a feature PK implemented, doesn't give you the right to play the pathetic old man card.
Sure, you can dislike a feature, as we all do, and your more in your right to adress these issues, But don't play the "I'm old, this feature may give me a heart attack" card, because it won't, ever.
I did read your original post, and it's utter and complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If you suffer from a weak heart condition, maybe don't play "Stressful" games?
1 hour events won't give you a heart attack, if you're an older person with a heart condition i'm sorry for you, but that doesn't change the fact that 1 hour events kill you.
If you don't like the new feature, fine.
But don't try to act these 1 hour events are out to kill you, or drag older gamer into this, just because you're to slow or to lazy to keep up with these events.
you don't speak for an entire age group, you are a single person with a single issue.
Yes you did, Right here. Your own words:
Perhaps you should take your horseblinders off .
I know one person above 60 who plays Portal Knights . Has been for almost a year .
Funny that you should mention , she is also a heart patient .
A year ago , she enjoyed this game . Now , not so much . Because the timers has been shortened too much . She can´t do 75 percent of the events because they are too short now .
I was thinking of her generation when I made my post .
You know , about implementing more difficulties into the game ...... or did you just skip that part ?
Also , I adderessed Keen . I don´t see anything in your comments here , that you work for them .
Hahaha, yea. No, i don't work for Keen games, I just think you're ridiculous.
