Random strangers?
Someone joined my game while I was playing with a friend. I got scared and shut off the server before they did anything other then say "Hello" "Hi". I read a thread that said that it could be either a dev or someone who wants to kill everything you loved. If devs are joining games, can we get more of a notice before they load? If strangers can join find a way to join, can we get a password protection for our games? Is this a more common thing then I realize? (I mean I do only have 24 hours. So idk?)

*Note: I did check and I have no other friends who own this game. Unless you can now hide games? I don't keep up with the cool new steam things.

I am sorry if it was a Dev. I just wasn't expecting anyone so I panic and shut the server off before possible damage could be done to all the chests around the spawn point. I already had spent 10 minutes trying to get the chest organized. :bbtcat:

Edit: I could have called this stranger danger :<

Hi - This would not have been a developer and this should not have happened. Please can you help us help you by providing us with some additional info? You can get in touch here: https://fs30.formsite.com/505games/form16/index.html

Players can see you are logged into Portal Knights just by mousing over your avatar here in this thread. I had someone join my game (who I invited) and they were able to join me without even adding me to friends on steam. They just clicked my profile and there was an option to join me in my game. To technically, anyone can join anyones game at any time by using this method.

Hi - The only way you should be able to join someone else's game is if the hosting player has selected “Friends” in the privacy settings of their character and is in Online mode in Steam. We will pass your message onto our development team to investigate. Those who you are not friends with on Steam should not be able to enter your game.

I'm sure that's the way it "should" work, but that's not currently how things are working. As of the date of this post (Aug 12 2016), this issue is stil present. Please see the following screen shot:

You can click on anyone in any steam discussion thread and go to their profile and join their game without being on their friends list.

If your playing by yourself and want to maintain the SP experience, you might play the game in "offline mode" , that way no one can join your game.

Sadly I play with my bf, and really don't play alone. So I need to play with friends :<

Not sure if this might work, what if you try changing your status to "Offline" (Friends > Offline)

Do that, then ask your BF or another trusted friend to see if it shows if your "in game" when reviewing your Steam profile?

If that doesn't work, last option I would recommend is change your profile to "Private" and then send the invite to your BF / friends or vice versa through the Steam invite feature.

Sorry to hear about your experience, sounds like Steam needs to fix that loophole.
