Once you come back to game this island will be generated again.
In my cases quests didn't reset but the loot from chest did. (2x stolen weapon)
also the NPC who I relocated from this island returned (cloned himself :D because I still have him in the inventory)
Thx for the tipps... :-)
Only loot and anything that was placed/destroyed on this world will reset.
(Taken NPC will clone themself and appear on this island if you have taken them previously)
First you would need location of save files :D
If you don't use steam cloud then:
C:\Users\&username%\Saved Games\portal_knights
If you use steam cloud then:
*steam location*\Steam\userdata\*your steam ID3*\374040\remote
The name has 16 numbers.
2 first number for islands are "04". (all islands start with "04")
10th number is universe. (number 0 = first universe, number 1 = second universe, number 2 = third universe)
And last 3 numbers are number of the certain island
14th number is the "1-" thingie (from 1-03). This doesn't follow the rule from universe. 1 is 1.
While last 2 numbers are island's number. This follows the rule from universe. "03"="02"
So the 1-03 island on universe 1 would have name
0400000000000102
for universe 2 it would be
0400000001000102
for universe 3 it would be
0400000002000102
etc etc
BTW
If you have steam cloud enabled then
If you remove the file when game is off then steam cloud will recover missing file.
Other way to find island whcich you want to remove is simply going into game, teleport to this island, build/destroy something, teleport to other island and then go to folder with saves and sort by "last modified", the island you look for will be on top. (amongst the character, universe files but those don't start with "04" so it's easy to disguise them)
If you go to "other island" then it's good idea to teleport into vacant/event/tempotary islands, they have number over 3 in the place of "1-" or letters in name so it's easier to disguise them if game modifies their file too.
The world stay the same. Nothing is new generated. Cloud-Saving is on. Could it be, that the missing file (040000000000102) is downloaded from cloud, before entering the world? I try to turn off cloud. But then I have to start a new game and create a new character. After turning cloud on again, everything is like before. Deleting the file of world 1-03 doesn't work. All stay the same. Any suggestions?
If you made the island your building on your home world, regenerating your universe won't touch your home world, or any deed worlds you have bought in the past. Just an fyi. Open the world map, and there should be a button to set an island as your home world.
I have been doing it only this way so no idea if steam cloud interfere if you remove it while outside of game.
Also as I said in first post there are 2 locations of saves -> if you disable steam cloud then game uses the first one, you can copy paste everything from the steam cloud location to non cloud one and it will work
What I'm doing wrong:
I quit the game and delete the file of the island. After starting game again everything was like before.
What works:
I start game and waiting for the menue. Then I delete the file while game is running in background.
After that I load my savegame and world 1-03 was new generated. :-)
Now I had complete the quest. Thx to everyone for the help.
Now you can check him as answer because it should contain all the informations we gathered in this thread.
