Pet Slot?!

Hey, just started playing the game again after a long break and bought the 2 DLCs...but where the heck did the pet slot go in your equipment?!
I still have it on my old characters, but the slot is gone on the new ones I made

yes, the Feb 2020 1.7.X, Mount update changed how you do pets and the new mounts. Like you said the old characters that had a pet in a slot where you check the characters armor will still have the pet in that slot, but if you un-equipment the pet, the slot will go away, or if you want a different pet you have to un-equip the old pet and the new pet will have to be summoned from a slot in your back pack just like you do with the new mounts. Any new characters you make will not have a special pet slot and you have to put pet in the backpack and summon it to have it follow you around.
