On a related note, I leveled up a 2nd warrior to 30 with different stats/armor to use specifically for hm bosses. (No more crafting potion of void to respec based on my objectives.)
Here's how I solo 1st and 3rd HM bosses with my ranger :
Attributes : EVERYTHING in Dex (no use to buff constit because you'll still be one-shoted by HM bosses)
Skills : Crossbow, Stance, Dodge, (potions), Orb thief, Avoid death, Combo Strike
Gear : Titanium crossbow (or Throwing knives against king of light)
Head : Plunderer's helm (+5% multistrike chance, +2 strikes)
Torso : Avenger (?) platemail (+67HP when crits, craft on anvil IV)
Arms : Unbreakable Gauntlets (+12% dodge, +20HP regen, +5% dark resistance)
Legs : Ceaseless champion (Double Jump, +23% leech chance, +19% leech, +5% dark resistance)
OR
Legs : Champions Gladiator (+4% Multistrike chance, +1 strike)
Cloak : Winged Cape (you can use a crit boosting one, mana regen ou HP regen instead)
Ring : Divine protection (+100 resistance, +1 strike, +4% multistrike chance)
-------------------------------
Now, the method is basicly the same for both :
- If you died, think that it's because you should have dodge instead of attacking, learn from your mistakes.
- TAKE YOUR TIME. Don't rush blindly, they are NOT the same as the basic bosses, they are not just "hard mode" bosses. They're HARDCORE mod bosses. If your first win takes you 20 minutes (without counting dying time), it's normal !
- Don't think you can kill'em in one turn. If you deal them only 1% each time they fall, don't worry ! It's more important to STAY ALIVE than been a killing machine.
- Forget about stuff resistance, it's only versus physical damage and you're a RANGER. You're not supposed to be in the center of the battle field. Stay far, DODGE alot, shoot a bolt, dodge again, then dodge more again.
-------------------------------------
Some other tips : multistrike deal A LOT more damage than anything else.
Look for the "ledge trick" on google to know how to easily deal with the electroworm and don't forget to take plenty of sharpening stones. Potions can be useful, but not so much as it's a win-or-die method I use.
With all of this, if you still struggle, come on the public server, HM bosses are often open and you may find people to help.
