How to deploy pets?

How do I deploy pets, so they run around in a room or certain space? I saw people did that, I can't figure out how. Please help.

If you're referring to keeping them in one place, you have to buy the appropriate "home". For example, for dog pets you buy a dog house, for cats, a cat bed (cage for birds and wheel for rats, etc.) Funny Jongo sells at least some (if not all) of them. Regarding the forest pets DLC, they can use the same houses as other pets. As to how you make them roam around without any visible "home", I really don't know... in which case, this answer may be of no help. :-/

Actually, any pet can be placed in any type of house, and the pets will automatically roam around once inside your (birdcage, doghouse, etc.).

Actually, any pet can be placed in any type of house, and the pets will automatically roam around once inside your (birdcage, doghouse, etc.).

I guess by "in one place" I meant, within relative proximity of the "house". I either never tried--or forgot about putting pets in homes that aren't typically associated with them (ex: a spore in a bird cage) but yeah...I guess that works. I believe I've seen ducks (from the Forest Animals DLC) swiminning around in water with no apparent "house", but I suppose it could have been placed below the surface. I'd have to experiment with that. I've been away from PK for a month or so.

As all I known, there are just 2 kind of pet. Can fly and cannot.

Any per that can't fly, cannot stay in pet home above ground level, else they would never spawn.

I had tried with Spore pet, they cannot fly. Even by their shape they should be able to....

The 1.5.X Aug update changed how pets spawn from the pet houses. I had many of my pet cages buried 2 blocks deep and covered with a block of dirt to make it appear they were running around free. When I came into my home island after the update I was missing half of my pets. Dug up the cages and the pets were in the hole with cages. Now if I want to try to hide the rat wheel cage I go one block down from ground level but you need another open block area next to it for pet to get out and run above ground. In a room you can remove one of the blocks from the wall where it meets the floor level and put in the rat wheel cage so it is not as noticeable.
