Ancient Evil Electro Worm Platform Jump

Before I put this in the suggestions sub-forum, I thought I'd ask... Is there something obvious I'm overlooking when it comes to that second platform on the short trek to reach the boss arena? Using my preferred gear, my character cannot jump that high. I need to go through the easy yet slightly annoying process of first equipping a piece of armor that adds double jump (or those high jumping wings), then once I'm down, switch my armor back. It just seems like an unnecessary obstacle.

EDIT: It's especially annoying when you need to repeat the process over and over, if you die numerous times, as I do. :-[

do you know about roll jumping?
if not then use your jump button then in mid-air, dodge right after you jump, sorry if this isnt helpful.

I use dodge roll all the time, but I don't think I tried doing it while in the middle of a jump. I'll give that a try the next time I play. (I just finished killing the hard mode worm...after 45 minutes, using a Ranger hiding safely on one of the ledges. Apparently, I rather suck at difficult combat. )
