Since u can only place 1 block at a time i invested 3 hours yesterday to only make the flooring of my "soon to build castle" but since there is totally 0 need to even build a house i'l just finish the campaign with my chests and workbenches placec in the sun
Thnx
You can build random chests on surface of the most dangerous islands by disabling spawn of enemies :V No need for any castle/warehouse
Actually craft/build isn't the point of playing this game ;d
It's just part of the point and can be ignored just like you did with the other part of the point.
First character I started a huge project and ran out of materials, continued exploring but never really finished that one. After realizing I needed more chests I had to redo the foundation as well and just skipped it in the end.
Second character I just placed a ward block and made a palisade in a square around the teleporter with all my chests and work stations.
As mentioned, there is no reason to do it. Zombie games have you beeing attacked. Terraria also have dangerous nights, and invasions. Starbound has this problem as well, but there at least you have a ship where you need to return to before going to a different planet so it ends up being a natural hub either way.
There are people like this and like this.
Portal knight isn't only building and isn't only RPG, because of this it will bring both types of people, just like in this thread.
Also actually the fact that ARK is unbalanced (you are forced to mod) + the fact that most people play on wooden PC stops them from this game.
Oh and also yes youa re right about blending types and bringing people together and offc various ideas and points of view.In another discussion ,there is a player dissapointed because he want to line build like in lego worlds,to finish builds in 25 mins vs block by block. You guys know that game,i presume.Sooo awesome the sandbox, but progressiona dn stuffs are annoying as hell now vs early acces. But when you see that Nexo Knights castle and chars,Daaaaam.I wish they made lego game Only with nexo knights,i understand they have cartoons with story offc and tons of chas enemies and castles and machines and stuff.
I do feel we should make new discussion # Wariat117 (btw, dam you are active in discussions. You and that other guy, can't recall name now,he uses some starcraft char or helm pic as profile pic.Dunnow let my name fool you,i am very social and friendly, but in skyrym dark souls and so,i like dark knight type armors, and hellish, that's where my name comes from
I think I know where you are coming from.
I originally picked up the game for its roleplaying aspect. Graphics looked cute and on paper it sounded like a solid design. Only when playing did I discover that fights and classes were rather boring (to me) and I lost motivation quickly to gain levels and "upgrade" my character.
However the game forced me to start crafting. Something I didnt have any interest in at the beginning and wasnt even thinking about. It was a necessity at first to aquire better weapons/armor.
And thats when it all changed for me.
Farming blocks with a GOAL in mind and making something of your own from it has changed my perspective on the whole thing. I had no idea it would be that much fun. While a "base" is something every player is doing I m sure there are other things
- dedicated farming plots to ensure supply of regrowable resources
- a summer house on the beach
- watch tower at the border of an isle
- personal dungeon
- love nest to invite your wife/girlfriend to
Theres no reason to make it look nice or impressive so suddenly you are more busy thinking about plans and how to aquire blocks you need rather then reaching level cap or the next zone. In fact going to a new zone has been a HUGE time waster for me as you reach new locations which make you think "whoaaaa.....this looks so much better a place for my base" forcing you to restart or tear down your old base to build it again there or you come across a new type of block you didnt have access to before making you think "I need to build my whole floor with this block" so really....remodeling and refurninshing has been a large part of my gametime.
So no, there is no reason to build a base as in other games. But the option and freedom to be creative is addicting to me. Certainly not everybodies cup of tea. I also like clicker games so it comes down to the individual player I guess
You will have threesome then :V
