Gossamer
I recently got gold and upgraded all my stations and I cant seem to make any cloth with the crystal thread I keep finding. The Wiki says workbench 4 which I have, but it doesnt have the pattern, several of the armors require me to have gossamer fabric that I can't make even though the armors are part of the tier after the dragon

Gossamer needs workbench V (5) and that is upgraded with titanium.

That makes no sense when armor in anvil IV and archer IV require gossamer to make

That's because there is no anvil and archer station V. They stop at IV. That's their highest tier. Workstation 1 is the beginning of all workstations and doesn't require any metal to make, so sort of doesn't count. It could have been done less confusingly.
