Your Graphics card must be compatible with DirectX 11
So, I have DirectX 12 on my computer, yet I get this message whenever I try to start the game? Do I need to downgrade my DirectX?

Hi Random Scrub,

the message indicates that"Your graphics card must be compatible with directx 11". In this case it does not matter which directx version you have installed on your pc. As long as your graphical card does not support the needed directx 11 features you will get this error message.
Please post your graphical card so that we can verify.

Your graphics card only supports up to Direct x 10.1

You're going to need an Nvidia 4xx series or higher for dx11.

I just purchased this for my wife who has a lesser computer than mine. Is there no way to overide the direct x 11 requirement since her video card will only support direct x 10?

No, that is the hardware of the graphics card, it's too old/cheap

I know it is an old card... but direct x is a software program not hardware... Why is it not possible to force an old card to overclock and support a newer software by one single edition?

It doesn't matter if it is software; older cards are incapable of running the newer software. They do not have the ability to perform the tasks needed to run DirectX 11. It's like asking why your DVD player doesn't play Blu-ray. Just because they both play vidoes doens't mean they are capable playing the same things.

I still don't understand given that the software is being run by a PC video card either way. I see it more as a comparison of old DVD player vs new DVD player both compatible and running DVDS just with a newer software vs an older software. Graphics cards still perform the same function so why would it be a totally different format like DVD vs Blue-ray? Can you please elaborate on how it is Blue-ray vs DVD with Direct X or point me to an article where I can read about it? (I have searched but the information is vauge at best)
