Hello. It seems your reading capability’s need some sharpening. I have never assumed there was an online save of the game, which is why I backed up my data. Also, I have not specified which data I backed up, so you could not possibly know if I backed up the wrong data. Please don’t make stupid troll posts if you can’t help.
Its simple. You use the steam option to backup at steam>backup and restore games which only do is backup the local files. Your data is forever gone and no one can help you with such issue since your reinstall your computer.
Listen, please stop making troll posts. I DID backup my save files obviously. The problem I have is that they are not working! I have the data, but the data files are not working.
If you want any help, then I suggest you stop making comments like this. It will only make people less likely to help you.
And I don't think that 'backup local data' includes a backup of the savegame data. It would be better if it did (and for steam to be clearer about what it backups), but that won't help you now.
I'm afraid your savegame is lost forever. Maybe you can copy someone elses savegame so you don't have to start all over.
I HAVE the save data. It's just not working.
I'm sure you'd be able to spawn in stuff if you really want to recover some stuff.
Even though it's an online game and I despise cheating and cheaters, no one would blame you. You are after all in your own world etc etc.
This is what I do, One Drive is fantastic.
I'd suggest if you do have the saved files you said you do, plug them in the path that the saved games are Stored. "C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\portal_knights" The updates won't make it invalid.
If you ask people on here I am sure people will help, I'd suggest taking a bit of time to be a little calmer when making posts; I totally get your frustrated but people are more likley to help you if you're nice
If you need some stuff, I wouldn't mind tossing some items your way to help you get caught up either.
When was I not nice? I had a troll coming here trying to ruin my thread. I have all the data, I have all the backup files, they just didn't work. It doesn't matter now, I have started a new world. I have leveled to 30 again, I have all my gear back, it's just the buildings that I don't have anymore.
