refined gems
how do u craft refined gems? I need a few for some armor

Refined gems may be made in the Alter. My best guess since the alter is for anything gem related. Be it the gems itself, refined, or gem dust.

I may be wrong so if you need to, you can look through all the tabs and such till you find out how to make refined gems.

I did look through all the tabs. no dice. thankfully I found enough in chests

By all tabs I mean those of the Work bench, alter, anvil, drafting table, forge, and archery station and all of the top tabs.

maybe they wont show up cause I did not craft the stuff I did not need since I am warrior class

Probably, I don't know. Do you have an altar and is it fully upgraded?

I just got done with the first boss, and have not even built an alter maybe I would buid one for the heck of it

You need an alter for refined Gems.
