portal placement and water issue

hey guys im loving the game so far but i have had some really strange portal placements so far particularly the second portal rather than the first for example one of them was completely under water and pretty deep too and since there isnt really a swim it was very very difficult to find and get activated.

there really needs to be a swim mechanic because the water on this game needs some work i try to avoid it at all costs because on one of my worlds the water is extremely deep i was running around and i fell in and sank down i wanna say atleast 1000 blocks down and landed on a grass floor but at that point there isnt really much to do except teleport back to the start.

i will see if i can find it again and take a screenshot.

Dig a hole and drain it out.

that wont work, there was already a hole at the bottom which was generated by default and nothing is draining.
hopefully the video will make things more clear when its finished soon

The swin feature indeed would be good, but I dont see that working with combat underwatter thou... also just a heads up: there is 2 potions you will unlock soon... 1 will give you air...(30 secs or more I think) the other will allow you to not breathe for 2 min... so dont worry! (those recipes - blueprints - you will find by killing watter mobs - i forgot their names)

Make several holes to drain it... the more the better. The lake has fountains below surface level that you need to destroy to drain it. As soon the lake has dropped about 5/10 blocks you will see the first 2 fountains. It will take a really long time to drain most of it.

lol i hate that map too :P
if i remember there are 2 maps that has portal deep underwater. if youre lucky they appear at surface tho.

Im pretty sure its random thoe... I have more than 2 portals underwatter

i drop in about where the portal is quickly fill it in and port out (or return to landing pad) before i drown

i have every recipe unlocked, all the worlds unlocked and im lvl30 and have a diving helmet i just wanted to bring this up.

i only had 1 portal underwater but it was really deep and in a messed up dungeon so it was really hard to find and to enable because at the time i didnt have the air potion recipes unlocked or a diving helmet

Really? How far in the game did you find that diving helmet? If it's end game loot then the devs need to change that. This vital piece of gear should be found early on before you have to dive for portals of course.

well it finally drained lol but it took maybe an hour or more.
