Legendary items are not so legendary
The legendary items you get from killing the ancient bosses are a little underwhelming. the weapons I can make with a basic recipe are more powerful than the legendarys that drop off of ancient bosses. so when you finally get to fight them after making the relics and you see this amazing looking sword/staff/bow drop off of the boss and then you look at its stats you are just like...oh well this is actually a downgrade from my weapon I made from the easy version of this boss. It makes downing the ancient bosses less exciting knowing there is nothing you can get from them that is worth the grind (other than those sweet sweet pets of course). example - my titanium sun cleaver I was able to make has an attack stat of 218 and gives me 50% more crit damage and 10% increase chance to crit. while the celestial wrath (loving the name of it to be honest) is only 208 attack with a small chance to gain a very small amount of health when struck with a spell attack. most spell attacks at this point hit much harder than what you can get healed for making this stat pointless even with the 15% spell resistance it gives. and nobody is going to stack spell resist with their gear because not all enemy's hit with magic attacks and even if they did I would much rather strike them down in 2 hits with my axe then survive one or two additional attacks while dealing the amount of damage that a pool floatie would hit for. granted the celestial wrath is an elemental sword and can deal additional damage to dark montsers but even with that bonus im hitting harder with my basic cleaver from an easy boss. Just feels like its not really a reward getting these legendary weapons. more of a disappointment.

the bows are BiS, especially the electro one which can be damage amped using lightning zap

staves are still second to immortal titanium (in regards to spells; poison rain), but atleast have a niche in their elemental variety and aoe

the swords also have niche uses imo, they fall short dps wise compared to titanium sun cleaver or titanium fist but the elemental affinity and spell resistance makes them a good option for certain encounters (notably the electro sword against the artic dragon countess)

the light sword/bow are also the best option for clearing out fallen mages as a warrior/ranger (only other option being light bomb, which with poor mana management and int is going to be annoying to last hit with)

My guess is they are usually minor improvements in most cases over the end game crafting item so people who cannot do the bosses do not feel underpowered.

In either case a lot of gear needs an item revamp so that may help things out a bit.
