The letter Y should count as a vowel in specific words
The letter Y is cleary used as a vowel in many English words, e.g. in "why", "myth" or "synergy". The game only considers a, e, i, o, u as vowels though.

I guess this would need a dictionary with metainformation on which letters represent vowels or an algorithm that analyzes the phonetics. A pragmatic solution that already covers many cases would be to consider Y a vowel if there are no other vowels present (a, e, i, o, u). From my own example this would solve the "why" and "myth" case, but not "synergy".

I gave this issue a lot of thought during development, and ended up deciding to just keep a e i o u as vowels to simplify things. I also read several opinions on it like this one[en.oxforddictionaries.com] before making the decision.

Ok, it's good to see that you gave it thought during development. I'm sure you adjusted the algorithm for letter frequency accordingly. In my entire playthrough of 100%ing story mode I only had a grid of letters without vowels a single time. So it works exceedingly well either way.
