I've been seeing that the you are required to pay cash in order to advance into pvp or you'll just get kille by player's who have payed money, so if thats true than yeah it's probably dead i would honestly just go play aion which has cosmetics and mounts cash shop... not a gear cash shop.

I think the bigger problem comes at lvl 99, when you realize the majority of the players are using scripts to pvp

this is one of most expensive games you will ever play, it would be way cheaper to buy if for 100 euros if there would be no in game cash shop than as it is now, you get to play it for free but to compete you need to spend way way way way more than even most expensive games on steam cost to buy.

Thats only if you want to compete for the top spot... If you want to have fun and just pve, its a good game.

have fun in solo instances you mean? Lineage 2 is pvp game, in the endgame its all about pvp , pvp for top raids, pvp for castles pvp for everything, pvp is only thing that made lineage2 grateverything else is just average

Servers is full of BRS, if you can tolerate BRs speaking Spanish then by all means play. But as everyone stated in the thread it's full of scripters, auto bots and pay to win pvp. I never payed or botted in this game and I'm doing well. But then again. I'm a clanless loner who just has an ISS buffer and just afk farm. I've been playing this game for years so I'm more fimilar it. To new players it's very scary. If you don't know how to lvl up quickly (raids and Hellman) You'll slowly lose intrest because it's a pretty grindy game. This is the game I play to clear my head or just zone out.

just try it ,if you like it solo and pve - its a nice game, no bots or p2w can ruin your solo pve gameplay so go ahead, if you want pvp and party - poof , its gone, party matching is plain empty and pvp is p2w so ^^

My server has a lot of players, but this game does take a fair amount of money and dedication otherwise you will never be a factor in pvp. This is for sure a diff animal than other mmorpg games.

people pay to play without stupid pms kids, there is nothing bad. also servers can not exist without l2store donations. if you want to play free games go play domino or checkers.

path of exile is f2p with 0 p2w options, and i bet they get a lot of money just for customizations, Lineage 2 could also do that but - why bother if you can make more money with selling enchant boosts, potions, buffs and other p2w stuff
