Cam you please help me.....my game does not save....I have tried a number of times and the menu option is only "new game"

I am also having this problem. When I try to save it appears to work, and then it won't let me load or continue from the menu.

This happened to me once and I lost 2 hours because of it, but since then it worked without issues until the end of the game.

I hadn't thought of it as a corrupted save, I had assumed it just wouldn't load the saved game I already had.

I saved and on re start it only offered new game. Where's my save? I've lost audio (posted elsewhere) and can't save. That's the end of this game until any solutions are offered , thanks.

Same here, I lost 2 hours when my saves disappeared. The first time I started playing, it was working fine, now no saves at all. Can we get a fix for this, devs? I really don't want to replay AGAIN!

Hi,
the game does not have an autosave feature and the save feature is a bit clunky. After opening the save menu you will have to click the small word "save" next to the screenshot. The game displays the message "Game saved" and gameplay continues.
That being said I have some questions.BlackSails creates saves in "MyDocuments\BlackSails\save".
Could you please check if the folder exists. When the saves disappeared have you perchance logged in with another user account? Are there any special characters (meaning anything other than a-z) in the user name ?

Thank you for responding. When I saved the message "Game saved" appeared and I continued playing. When I closed the game and came back to it, however, the only option was New Game. I checked the save folder then, it definitely exists, but it was completely empty. I haven't logged into any other account, but my user name has the number 6 in it.

I also had the game saved message appear both times (two saves in one session) and still couldn't access them after I closed and re entered the game. I've not used any other account and I have no numbers etc. The save folder is there and empty

Guys, all of you who are facing problems with saving, you should try changing your region and language settings from whatever they are now to English (United States) or English (United Kingdom).

I had a similar problem to the one mentioned above, with instant crash to the desktop everytime I would try to save my progress. After changing the format, location and system locale values (I use Win 7) from Greek to English (United States), things seem to be perfectly OK and a .sav file is created in "MyDocuments\BlackSails\save" folder everytime I save my game.

Actually, it's manos426f.

Anyway, since I have tried this, I have played over 3 hours, made 5-6 different saves and everything is working absolutely fine.

Ok so I deleted my old saves & started again in case of a corrupted file, my game does save (confirmed in save folder) and I have nothing other than a-z letters in my user name.

Upon launch I have the options "continue" or "load game" but neither seem to do anything. I can open the load screen & see my saved game but selecting it has no effect. The other thing that is odd is the background screen of the menu, if clicked on, is able to be entered and played somewhat like the game but with only the female character.

If I start a new game, everything is fine - no crashing & games seem to save but I cannot load a previous save. I am running Win 7 64

Discovered the issue related to running in 5040x1050. Switched back to 1250x720 and that fixed it. Load Game works fine now. I've just completed it. The 5040x1050 was messing up the start menu as it turns out
